I have been trying to configure an asus RT-N66U router to work with a

31? Did that with dnf but it looks like I created an smb server, I think
that is already part of the router? I set up a router and USB drive in
the past with an older version of Fedora and it just worked, not so now.

You may need to configure the clients to use SMBv1 (assuming you
aren't concerned with security).   Consumer routers with USB disk
support are generally intended to be used as Windows Media
Servers and won't support POSIX users and groups.   If you need
to preserve POSIX ownership and permissions you want a proper NAS
that supports linux and macOS.

I would like to have another way to save stuff on my LAN that will be
convenient for the Apple users and me to use. I guess I am looking for
some help from anyone familiar with this. Perhaps I should just buy aWD
NAS unit?
