Eclipse and Fedora 30 upgrade issue
by Matthew Saltzman
Is there a workaround for the issue where the Fedora 30 upgrade decides
that all of Eclipse is not compatible with Fedora 30 and removes the
complete collection of Eclipse packages?
If it's best to wait until the issue is resolved before upgrading,
will GNOME Software automatically update my downloaded upgrade
packages? If not, how to make sure that update happens before the
install?
Thanks.

I raised the loglevel even to debug2, but I see no trace at all of the calls
to smb when I do "journalctl -e"
I see traces of the job I send but all of them with the uri ipp://localhost...
I see no errors there.

Entering these lines in the script, gave me nothing: no trace of the logs
when running "journalctl -e"
How can I check if samba is called correctly?

If I do the smb.real trick, I'm able to change the "Shared" and the
"AuthInfoRequied"
but even now I cannot print. In the "gnome-control=center" the jobs end up
"paused". I get a pop-up-bubbel in my gnome session telling me that
"credentials are required". I thought they should be picked up from the
DeviceURL.

spamprobe
by Scott van Looy
Hi,
I recently recovered my home partition from some corruption. Most of everything is working OK but my spamprobe database appears not to be
I use spam probe in a procmail recipe, from their examples in the man page:
:0
SCORE=| /bin/spamprobe train
:0 wf
| formail -I "X-SpamProbe: $SCORE"
:0 a:
*^X-SpamProbe: SPAM
spam
And procmail is hanging on “spamprobe, train”, timing out and failing to deliver the message.
I moved my existing spamprobe database away and created a new one and it all works as expected, but without any of my previous data from the old DB.
So, two questions:
What format does spamprobe use for the db and is it repairable somehow?
Alternatively - I set this up about 750,000 years ago, I can see spamprobe hasn’t been updated in years, is there a better solution to set up spam filtering on fedora? I run my own mail server and I currently use RBLs and spamassassin

systemd scriptlet error?
by Tom Horsley
My very first update on my newly installed fedora 30 workstation:
Running scriptlet: systemd-241-8.git9ef65cb.fc30.x86_64 284/284
warning: %triggerin(systemd-241-8.git9ef65cb.fc30.x86_64) scriptlet failed, exit status 65
Error in <unknown> scriptlet in rpm package systemd
I can only hope it isn't important :-).

Tip on upgrading to FC 30
by ToddAndMargo
Hi All,
If you are upgrade from 29 to 30, make sure you
update dnf and libdnf first do to a bug that has
been fixed (my procedure below takes care of this).
So far I have one virtual machine running FC30. Haven't
got a chance to torture it yet though.
This is my update procedure:
FC 29 -->> FC 30:
# rpm --rebuilddb
# rpm -Va --nofiles --nodigest
if anything is too new, do a
# dnf downgrade offender(s)
# dnf --enablerepo=* update --refresh
# dnf install python3-dnf-plugin-system-upgrade
# dnf system-upgrade download --refresh --releasever=30 --allowerasing
--best
# dnf clean packages <-- optional
# dnf system-upgrade reboot

Printing problems after upgrade to F30
by Jouk Jansen
Hi all
I just upgraded from F29 to F30. All looks fine except printing from the
system. The printer is configured in /etc/cups/printers.conf (see details
below). I noticed that in a previous file the "Shared" was set to Yes, but
all the other lines are exactly the same.
if I try to pront from the system the job is held in the queue telling me
that there is a problem with authentication (but the authentication is
included in the prints.conf file). If I look in the printer set=up menu
which can be started from the "gnome-to-panel" it tells me that the job
needs autentication and it asks met to enter credentials, but I cannot input
them from this menu: Where should I enter them?
If I try to reconfigure the printer via cups and indicate that the printer
is to be shared, I get the message that sharing is not possible for a
Kerberos-printer. On this system I never configured Kerberos. So what is
happening here?
Please help me getting printing working on this machine as it worked before
the upgrade to F30.
Regards
Jouk
