I have just dnf upgraded from F22 to F24. Everything went fine, but
now, when I try to login, I get the following message:

Any ideas?
Thanks in advance,

No video from Gigabyte GT710 graphics card
by David Aldrich
Hi
I have just fitted a Gigabyte GT710 graphics card to a machine running Fedora 22. The monitor is connected to the DVI-D port of the card.
When the system boots the BIOS messages appear on the monitor, but as soon as the system starts Fedora the monitor goes blank.
Any suggestions on how to fix this please?
Best regards
David

Can not see what's typed in terminal
by Todor Petkov
Hello all,
yesterday I have updated to kernel-4.6.3-300.fc24.x86_64 and when I
run mate-terminal/terminator/konsole, I can not see what's being typed
in the terminal before pressing enter. For example, I type "ls", I can
not see the 'l" and "s" letters before I press enter, then the letters
appear along with the command output. There is no problem with
4.5.7-300.fc24.x86_64
Does anyone have the same issue or it's only me?

Hi,
Upgraded an amd workstation, microserver & laptop till now.

For now I disabled resolved. And I saw something about dhvp ipv6, probably
the systemd.link has been changed. Have to look into that. Logging has
never been that chatty.
microserver:
Remote reboot succes! Nice.

smartctl doesn't reveal errors. Kernel 4.6?
laptop:
Strange. It's an i5 4200. kde-plasma has been a big bag of bugs but. I
have to enable 'compositing' while I hate it. But now without a konsole has
a keyboard rate of 1 key / 20 sec! Alt-shft-F12 (toggle fancy effects) will
restore normal command prompt (konsole). gnoem terminal isn't influenced by
this. Disable desktop effects again, after 10 min konsole doesn't react
(slow) again.
seamonkey start up crash, solved by latest in testing
pgadmin3 start up crash, see bug report
Oh, and I still hate that silly stop job is pending systemd. Really don't
udnerstand why only my laptop won't shutdown cleanly.

enp0s8 not configured notification popups every few minutes (annoying)
by Kenneth Wolcott
Hi;
enp0s8 not configured notification popups every few minutes (annoying)
I just installed Fedora Live 64-bit KDE as a VirtualBox Guest OS.
I want to have two VirtualBox ethernet interfaces:
One for the vm to "see" outwards (NAT Network) and
Two for me to ssh into it (Host-only) so that I'm not forced to use
the console.
Every few minutes (it seems like every few seconds), I get a
notification popup that states that enp0s8 is not configured and then
a notification popup that it is being disabled.
How do I configure my outgoing ethernet interface?
I used to edit a file called something like /etc/network*/interface
and then I could change the default DHCP setting to be static and the
default disabled (off) setting to be enabled (on).
How does one do that kind of stuff now?
Is that a systemd thing?
Thanks,
Ken Wolcott

xfdesktop-settings to change Background Image
by Clifford Snow
Does anyone have the same problem changing imagery when using the
sfdesktop-settings app? It works fine except for trying to select the
astronomy images, then it hangs. It looks like the image size may be wrong.
The astronomy images are also jpg images vs. png for others.

Lexmark E460DN Laser Printer will it work on Fedora 23 and on?
by Darlene Wallach
Hi,
I found a refurbished Lexmark laser printer online. Unfortunately,
they only have drivers up to Fedora 17. They have Fedora 11 - Fedora
17 listed.
Does anyone know if those drivers would work on Fedora 23 an onward?
Since I have a *very* old Fedora distribution, Fedora 13, the printer
would be supported.
However, I would not want to buy the printer then not have it work
when I install a current Fedora distribution.
Does anyone know how to determine if the Lexmark drivers would work on
the current Fedora distributions, 23 and 24?
Thank you
Darlene Wallach

Re: f24: touchpad "Tap to click" & C. configuration
by Alan Gagne
> Into Fedora 24 "Mouse & Touchpad" panel are missing "Tap to
> click", "Two finger scroll", "Natural scrolling"
On my laptop I have been using the X11 synaptics driver till Fedora24.
You can get get some info on yours
but tailing the journal log (sudo journalctl -f). When I used the gnome
control panel to change touchpad settings,
I also had no touchpad setting available. But messages in the journal
directed me to use libinput rather than synaptics drivers.
I just removed the synaptics drivers and restarted. Touchpad settings
are now visible in the gnome control panel for mouse and TP.
[dnf remove xorg-x11-drv-synaptics] YMMV

NetworkManager drops config on link down
by Chris Adams
I have a USB ethernet adapter on my desktop system that I use when
configuring new equipment (servers, routers, switches, etc.). I have a
variety of pre-set configs in NM, like 192.168.0.x, 10.0.0.x, etc.
Often while configuring something, I need to reboot it, which drops the
link. NM "helpfully" de-configures the interface, and I have to wait
for link to return and re-select the right config (because NM won't let
me select a config for an interface that is link-down).
Is there a way to disable this "helpfulness", so that for this USB
ethernet interface, once I select a config, it stays configured (even if
the link drops)? This is frustrating behavior in many cases.
