Kernel modules not compiling w version info
by Steffan Henke
Hi,
I just upgraded a Severn box to Yarrow and I am really happy with it.
The only issue I have is recompiling the supplied kernel with version
information on module symbols. It compiles just fine w/o versioning,
but breaks when enabling versioning, even with the supplied .config
from /boot.
Unfortunately, I need version info for several third-party modules.
Would appreciate any help on compiling with version info.
Regards,
Steffan

Hello,
Can somebody help me?
This short piece of code fails.
It seems to be due to the gsl library!
Thank for your help.

const gsl_multifit_fsolver_type *T_ ;
gsl_multifit_fsolver *s_ = gsl_multifit_fsolver_alloc (T_, 10, 1);

f21: several warnings from "chkrootkit".

Good afternoon,
A short while ago, I did my weekly patch sequence...
"yum update yum"
"yum update"

How to remove virbr0
by Kevin Wilson
Hi,
I recently installed Fedora 20 on x86_64 machine . I
also installed several packages on this machine. When I boot my Fedora
20 machine, "ifconfig -a" shows that there is virbr0 and it is up.
It is probably due to some rpm/service which I installed.
Any idea which rpm/service could it be ? is there a way I could find
(apart from guessing) which
rpm/service is that one ?

Kevin

Fedup to F22: No "System Upgrade" in GRUB menu
by Max Pyziur
Greetings,
I tried to upgrade an x86_64 Intel desktop today per the instructions
located here:
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/FedUp#How_Can_I_Upgrade_My_System_with_Fed...
and
having successfully done an i386 Dell laptop recently.
On reboot, there was no "System Upgrade" choice in the GRUB menu.
I reviewed the instructions, which advised rebuilding grub (the assumption
was that the grub was incompatible because it was from another Linux
installation; in my case it was fresh install of F21).
The commands that were issued (from the instructions):
grub2-mkconfig -o /boot/grub2/grub.cfg
grub2-install /dev/sda (replace /dev/sda by any other device you
prefer to boot from) (in my case /dev/sda1)
I rebooted, and I was back in F21.
Much thanks for any advice on how to proceed here.

F22 no loading Virtuabox kernel module
by William Oliver
Man, I'm having a fit with F22 right now. Still can't get grub to
recognize my Win 8 loader for dual boot, and now I can't get VirtualBox
to run. Sigh.
VirtualBox had been doing OK until I did the most recent upgrades, which
included a kernel upgrade. Then I got the ever popular "there ain't no
kernel mod" error.
Stuff I tried:
I removed and reinstalled VirtualBox and it's associated kernel mod
source (which seems present though the compiled kernel module doesn't
seem to be there).
Ran akmods, which noticed that VirtualBox kernel mod needed to be
compiled, and did it. But it wouldn't load.
Here's the error from trying to load it using systemd-load-modules:
