Device 0 (VID=04e8 and PID=6860) is a Samsung GT-P7510/Galaxy Tab
10.1/S2/GT-N7000/Galaxy Nexus.
Found 1 device(s):
Samsung: GT-P7510/Galaxy Tab 10.1/S2/GT-N7000/Galaxy Nexus
(04e8:6860) @ bus 2, dev 7
.........
libmtp supported (playable) filetypes:
Folder
Text file
HTML file
RIFF WAVE file
ISO MPEG-1 Audio Layer 3
MPEG video stream

GIF bitmap file
JFIF file
Portable Network Graphics
TIFF bitmap file
Microsoft Windows Media Audio
Ogg container format
Advanced Audio Coding (AAC)/MPEG-2 Part 7/MPEG-4 Part 3
MPEG-4 Part 14 Container Format (Audio+Video Emphasis)
ISO MPEG-1 Audio Layer 2
Abstract Playlist file
XML file
Free Lossless Audio Codec (FLAC)
OK.
But nothing shows up as files. I can't find anything on yum that would
act as a file manager. How do I actually transfer files to the nexus?

Need help USB modem
by Roger
A friend of my daughter has converted from windows to Linux just
yesterday but has a Sierra Aircard 312U wireless USB modem and cannot
get internet on the laptop.
I've spoent hours googling to no avail. Search shows that this modem is
useless for Linux so can someone please tell me which wireless usb
modems work best on all linux flavours, easy to set up, etc.
There's got to be something but I haven't had any luck finding information.
If this change is successful there could follow at least 3 others so I
really need help here please.
Cheers and thanks in advance

Alternative to a Pogoplug
by Robert Moskowitz
A friend has pointed me to the Pogoplug which right now can be purchased
quite cheaply:
e.g.:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/200710735289?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p39...
But you have to be careful because:
"That's what was advertised (the pro), and box (sealed) was labeled
Pogo-P21, which should have been the dual core model, but the device was
labeled Pogo-E02, which is this one:
http://archlinuxarm.org/platforms/armv5/pogoplug-v2-pinkgray
The labeling mess seems to be as a result of them liquidating the
pre-series 4 models and stuffing them into whatever boxes they have."
There seems to be challenges with Fedora support for these devices?
Plus it is also clear that you might not get what you paid for. Sooo....
I am looking for a cheap, low power platform with ethernet and 4 USB
ports (I would even run my system drive off of USB) with 1Gb memory so I
can load a current FC on it. Duo core would be valuable. I have been
burned with this Lenovo not having duo core...
Any recommendations?

Portreserve on F16
by Heinz Diehl
Hi,
since portreserve is constantly failing on my F16 systems, and based upon older
and newer discussions on this topic, I wonder if it's still needed?!

activate CONFIG_IWLEGACY_DEBUG
by Pedro Francisco
I need to compile the kernel of Fedora 16 with CONFIG_IWLEGACY_DEBUG=y
(apparently kernel-PAEdebug doesn't activate it).
However as the SRPM for the kernel has various configs and
compat-wireless applied, I'm in doubt where/what should I patch to
enable CONFIG_IWLEGACY_DEBUG.
Do I have to make a patch and change the SPEC to apply the patch to
the config.mk of the compat-wireless?
Thanks in Advance,

Slideshow creator
by Sergio Belkin
Hi,
I'm looking for an app able to create a slideshow using images files
(photos). I've tried with Imagination and ffDiaporama, but they lack
the ability of sorting images by date. It's a pain because, images are
imported and it's difficult sort them. Does anyone know an app with
gui that has such a ability?
Thanks in advance!

Slow connections with last two glibc versions in F16
by Trever L. Adams
I am wondering if anyone else is seeing this:
My setup is mail servers are F16 vms hostest on F16. My router has
tproxy with squid on F16, many clients are on F16. File servers are
Samba4 on F16.
I am not sure which of the last two glibc versions is the culprit
(although I am leaning toward the last). However, since one of them,
connections to my mail servers hang for a bit. It takes a while for git
to connect to remote git trees (not just gitweb, but git as well). All
web connections hang for up to 30 seconds when starting the connection.
Once connected everything goes fine.
It isn't DNS, as tcpdump shows it happening at normal speed/places (or
it seems so). Squid was updated, but the problem showed up as soon as
the new glibc was allowed to work (restarting daemons) and isn't limited
to just http traffic.
Am I alone in this?
Thank you,
Trever

xfce and slow workspace switching; how to fix?
by stan
I've been using the Gnome fallback mode in F15 x86_64; old hardware and
preference. However it seems to not agree with my crt monitor, and has
been lately causing the monitor to go blank on context switches between
console and X. The only solution has been to turn it off and wait for
a while. I thought it was hardware failure, but I've been testing
xfce and it doesn't seem to cause this problem. But the switch between
workspaces is taking 5 to 10 seconds in some cases, and never less than
2 to 3 seconds. In Gnome fallback, switches of workspace are basically
instantaneous. Since I use workspaces to group and organize usage, the
slow switch is a real annoyance. I have found no web noise about this
problem, so I assume is is only me and there is some setting that is
causing this. But I can't find anything. Does anyone have a suggestion
of what might be causing this slow workspace switching in xfce and how
to fix it?
