trap in shell programming
by 嘉谟
I want to know when i use
trap 'rm -f /tmp/my_tmp_file_$$' INT
why shell itself capture the single and she shellscript exit.
Here is the code from << Beginning Programming>>
#!/bin/sh
trap 'rm -f /tmp/my_tmp_file_$$' INT
echo creating file /tmp/my_tmp_file_$$

echo "Press interrupt (Ctrl-C) to interrupt...."
while [ -f /tmp/my_tmp_file_$$ ]; do
echo File exists
sleep 1
done
echo The file no longer exists
trap INT
echo creating file /tmp/my_tmp_file_$$
date > /tmp/my_tmp_file_$$
echo "Press interrupt (Ctrl-C) to interrupt...."
while [ -f /tmp/my_tmp_file_$$ ]; do
echo File exists

Firefox error
by Howard Howell
I am getting the following error on one of my fidelity pages:
scs.fidelity.com : server does not support RFC 5746, see CVE-2009-3555
I googled "CVE-2009-3555" which reveled the following:
The TLS protocol, and the SSL protocol 3.0 and possibly earlier, as used
in Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) 7.0, mod_ssl in the
Apache HTTP Server 2.2.14 and earlier, OpenSSL before 0.9.8l, GnuTLS
2.8.5 and earlier, Mozilla Network Security Services (NSS) 3.12.4 and
earlier, multiple Cisco products, and other products, does not properly
associate renegotiation handshakes with an existing connection, which
allows man-in-the-middle attackers to insert data into HTTPS sessions,
and possibly other types of sessions protected by TLS or SSL, by sending
an unauthenticated request that is processed retroactively by a server
in a post-renegotiation context, related to a "plaintext injection"
attack, aka the "Project Mogul" issue.
In my case this means I have a function that will not load from the
fidelity website. And from reading this, maybe a "man in the middle"
vulnerability.
Does anyone know if this has been fixed? This would appear to be SSL or
OS related from the description, so Firefox and Mono or Moonlight
wouldn't seem to be the correct locations for a bug report, and since it
is a "known" hazard, the bug must have already been reported. So my
question is what should I do to rectify the situation?

SD card not seen by system after unmounting
by Gordon Charrick
This is wierd. I've got a multicard reader installed on my Fedora 14
system. If I insert an SD card, it gets recognized and mounted right
away. If I unmount the card, remove it, and reinsert it, the system does
nothing. No entries in the messages file about the device or anything.
If I want to use the SD card again, I have to reboot.
Has anyone seen something like this before? Ideas on how to debug the
problem?

KDE Themes
by Mike Chambers
I downloaded a theme for KDE (kde-look.org I think) and it's a tar'd
file. I also extracted it. How do I add it to KDE? DO I point
something at the unextracted source file, or do I point something at the
2 extracted files?
I"m also googling to see what I can find as well, so not just totally
asking.

KDE Appearance/icons
by Mike Chambers
In F14, when using gnome, I could go to where themes are selected
(personal/appearance?) and change icons that theme used.
How do you do this in KDE in F14?

.rnd
by Peter G.
There is a file in my home directory called .rnd. I presume it is the seed for
a random number generator. What program creates/uses it? I ran yum provides
*/.rnd and nothing at all turned up.

Live CD install
by Mike Chambers
When you boot up a live cd and go to "install to hard drive", does it do
it's own partitioning, or do you have the option of customizing it
yourself?
Thanks,
