by Adrian Sevcenco
Hi! is there a gui for selecting other driver for video? (instead of
nvidia installed one)
I think i have some hardware problem with nvidia card (on laptop) and i
think that could be temperature related .. so i want to change to nv
driver (i dont use 3d anyway)
Thanks,

Re: Unable to connect to the Internet through wireless

I quick usage of one of my favorite search engines with both key words "broadcom4312" and "fedora" showed up easily the following link that describes a way with only 3 steps to get it to work for Fedora 11. Since the howto was written for F11, I don't know if it is still the way for newer Fedoras.
Step #1
[root@fedora ~]$ yum install broadcom-wl wl-kmod
Step #2
Reboot
Step #3
[root@fedora ~]$ system-config-network
And add a new wireless device wlan0 or whatever you want by filling the required fields properly. If you want the device to be managed by NetworkManager, you can do so while editing the device you just added.
Activate the device. And you are on wifi

Maybe you need to load a closed-source / ugly firmware? Did you try to ping your router or another PC in your local network? To see if it is a problem of your network or the connection to the internet via your ISP.

Re: F14, google-chrome won't launch after yum update[SOLVED]

my last reply was incomplete; I did both of the commands as per Lance:

>semanage fcontext -a -s system_u -t usr_t /opt/google/chrome/chrome-sandbox
>restorecon -v /opt/google/chrome/chrome-sandbox

I find FireFox is Fedora's biggest security flaw..
by Linda McLeod
I find FireFox is Fedora's biggest security flaw.. FF is way too easy
to hack and crack
by demon-bullies to get into to mess-up the browser...
Please tell: What be the most secure browser for Linux Fedora?.. Is
there such a thing as a "secure browser"..?
Have you got any ideas when Mozilla might make FF reasonably secure..?
How do I get you and/or Mozilla to link to my PC to tap into my OS to
catch a glimpse of
the damage and entries the kooks do to FF in my Fedora-14 OS hd..?

More liive linuux distributions available
by Aaron Konstam
I don't know when this happened but unetbootin-linux-555 is now
available. This allows dozens of live Linux distributions to be
downloaded onto a USB stick. The new version includes Fedora 15. The yum
available unetbootin does not allow this.
You can download it from:
http://www.unetbootin.sourceforge.net
This allowed me to download the latest Ubuntu version. I admit the
interface as at leas as weird as Gnome 3.

well, no. Advice on this llist over last year or so is that
google-chrome is better.
I can always fall back on firefox....
At least I know my problem is Selinux.
And in this case evidently something that can't be fixed.
I would think this will be viewed by many fedora users
as a real black mark on Selinux.
Unless google-chrome is at fault.
More detail on how I was running:
from a backup copy of F!4
I had just done a yum update.
If I now go back to my main F14
(and dont do the yum update)
then google-chrome works as it has been.
so it was some glltch in the yum update
