Kontact/kde-pim new problem
by Anne Wilson
Today kontact will not launch, although kmail and korganizer launch perfectly
well stand-alone. I'm assuming that yesterdays updates have upset
something - possibly the selinux-policy changes? audit.log is showing a lot
of denials and failures. Attempting to launch kontact from a terminal gives

Anyone else seeing this?

mplayer error
by Dotan Cohen
When trying to use mplayer I get:
mplayer: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/libavcodec.so.51: undefined
symbol: faacDecOpen
>From some googling I've found that other users (on various linux
forums) have the same problem. Two users fixed their problems but
didn't bother to post their solutions. Removing and reinstalling
mplayer (via yum) did not fix it. Like mentioned on one of the forums,
mplay had worked in the past but after updating no longer works. Has
anybody on this list encountered and fixed this problem?
Thanks in advance.

Support for Firefox 1.5.0.x ends on April 24, 2007.
by javajunkie
Hi,
I read Support for Firefox 1.5.0.x ends on April 24, 2007.
Will:
1) fc6 offer ff2.0 then
or
2)people go without security fixes until they upgrade to fc7
or
3) people just install ff2.0 from one of the ways you can find on the
web

When to update?
by Michael D. Berger
I am using FC4, and I just came across a
reason to update. How long before FC7?
Should I wait or go to FC6? I don't
like to do it very often.
Thanks for your advice.

{OT} dillo developers need help
by Globe Trotter
dear friends,
i thought that this might be a place to draw attention to the fact that the
developers at dillo seriously need help or the project will probably wither
away. so money, or more importantly time would be very helpful...
look up www.dillo.org for more information.
btw, dillo is a fabulous fast browser, but needs to be able to keep up.
best,
trotter
ps: i have nothing to do with the dillo project, except as an user, but i am
deeply interested in its success.

Adding a printer to OpenOffice
by Frank Cox
I want to automatically create a .ps file from a html file using a script on
this FC6 machine.
It seems to me that OpenOffice should fit this bill as it can load a html file
and print to a PostScript file. However, doing this automatically from the
commandline is becoming a challenge.
I thought I might be able to set up a printer using spadmin that would simply
print to a file, then use a command like:
ooffice -pt textfileprinter document.html
Unfortunately, I have run into a roadblock here in that, on my installation of
OpenOffice, when I run /usr/lib/openoffice.org2.0/program/spadmin and select
"new printer" the options "Add a printer" (and "Import printers from a
StarOffice intallation", though this one is not relevant) are greyed out and
the only selections that I can make are "Connect a fax device" or "Connect a
PDF converter".
So how can I add a printer to OpenOffice that will print to a Postscript file?

He is some thing of a gas bag, isn't he. :D
I've had the misfortune of hearing him speak at our local LUG. Besides being the
most arrogant SOB I've met in my 37 years, he implied in his speech that he was
somehow responsible for the Linux revolution and apparently forcing all the
Fortune100 companies to switch to Linux.
Thank god he'll no longer claim to be a Fedora user. It's sort of the same thing as
Hannibal Lechter or Jeffrey Dahmer being in your dining club.

by Philippe A.
I have installed FC6 x86_64 on my new system. I would like to know how I can
compile a 32 bit freetype package. The following didn't work:
rpmbuild -bb freetype.spec -bb --target i386
It fails with these errors:

See `config.log' for more details.
