Does FC5 has Linksys drivers?
by Chethiya K Ranaweera
Hello,
When I insert my WPC11 wieless pcmcia card, FC5 can detect it. But I
can not configure the card in network device control. Does it mean FC5
has drivers?

Unable to Boot After Burning DVD iso Disk
by Jeffrey D. Yuille
Hello,
I just burned a Fedora Core 6 DVD ISO image by using K3b. The burn
went fine, buy now I am having a problem getting the disk to boot. I
already changed the bios setting of my laptop (I am using an IBM
ThinkPad T-30) to allow the DVD drive to be the first drive to be
booted. I was also able to previously burn this same Fedora Core 6 DVD
ISO image using GnomeBaker as well as the Nautilus burner but with the
same results of producing a disk that it unable to be booted from. Has
anyone else had this problem? Is there something wrong with the DVD iso
image? I also checked out the checksum of the disk and everythings seems
to be okay with this as well. Anything help would be greatly appreciated.

printer support problem
by Gene Heskett
Greetings;
My printer just advised me via a blinking led that one of the ink
cartridges was empty. So I sent yum looking for mtink which worked very
nicely for FC2.
No dice. Google for mtink fc6, found a repo called gemi which had it.
Added that to the repo's and had mtink installed via yumex. No dependency
problems according to yumex.
It wouldn't run, couldn't find libMx.so.3.
A locate found the only copies I had on the old FC2 drive. And for FC6,
even the dir it was in was missing as there was no /usr/X11R6/lib dir,
only a bin there. So I made a lib dir there, copied the old
libMx.so.3.0.2 to it and made a link to libMx.so.3. in that dir.
Then I added that path to /etc/ld.so.conf and ran ldconfig -v, which
seemed to be happy.
Then mtink runs just fine, and told me it was the black cartridge that was
empty. For some reason, replacing it with the genuine epson cartridge
caused the printer to crash and I actually had to do a pull the power
cord reset on it, but once that was done everything was cool again, and
mtink when restarted, tells me the cartridge is now full.
But I fail to see why a very important report tool, such as mtink or
escputil, was totally omitted from the distribution in view of a mistaken
assumption of which cartridge is empty and gets changed, is a nearly $30
mistake. Can someone knowledgeable address this?

FC6 Network Definitions
by Gene Poole
I've just finished a clean install of FC6 using the network parameters that
was used by FC4 prior to the install. I'm on a Windows network, but I have
a static IP address. I ended up with a corrupted hosts file, so there was
no loop-back. My issue is with resolv.conf and the fact that the windows
dns servers are wrong. On the neighbor Windows box the dns servers are
accessed dynamically. How can I duplicate this but keep my static address?
TIA,

dual boot 1 drive
by Tim
I've done it with 2 drives no problem. FC 6 is first, Win98 second and
both work. Grub won't boot the Win98, and I must have tried 10
suggestions from the web. This is my last hope.

Intel SATAII RAID 0 config
by Hadders
Hi all,
I've been thinking about migrating disks (earlier thread).
But then I figured, hmmm, why not go to RAID 0 SATAII, performance will
be sweet, and then I can dual boot between XP/FC
I know how to do this with my eyes closed for Windows, and I know
performance is very, very nice.
But had no idea how to do this for Linux, but have setup software RAID
before.
So after some hunting found the following blurb on the Intel web site:
http://www.intel.com/support/chipsets/sb/CS-013548.htm
What I'd like confirmed is the next bit about the Option ROM to setup
software RAID:
1. All I need to do is add the kernel patch, but this will only let me
see the SATA RAID container
2. I must then use software RAID to create a RAID 0 array, as there's
no RAID being done in hardware, because it's not really a hardware RAID
chipset and that for Windows it probably just does its own software RAID
with the driver provided, but for Linux lets you do this yourself, cause
why reinvent the wheel?
Thanks

I am totally puzzled - what have I done apart from editing the
modprobe.conf that is different to you?
