Problem with printer on parallel port.
by Steven W. Orr
I upgraded to 2.6.10-1.770_FC3smp and now my printer doesn't work.
[root@saturn]# cat /home/steveo/mozilla.ps > /dev/lp0
bash: /dev/lp0: No such device or address
[root@saturn]# ls -l /dev/lp0
crw-rw---- 1 root lp 6, 0 Mar 20 14:45 /dev/lp0
Does anyone know what I need to do to make it work?
Do I need to load a driver or add something to modprobe.conf?
TIA

Timezone
by Jens Ruda
Hi,
My server (Fedora Core 3) need to use UTC, but I can't select UTC in
Timezone Selection (system-config-date). In Fedora Core 1 UTC exist in the
timezone list, but not in FC3. Why?

"warning: many lost ticks." when restarting networking
by Alex Greg
When I run ifconfig or restart the networking on a couple of our
machines, I sometimes get this error:
warning: many lost ticks.
Your time source seems to be instable or some driver is hogging interupts
I ran dmesg and got this as well:

tg3: eth0: Flow control is off for TX and off for RX.

The machines are IBM x346 dual EM64T's with two Broadcom network ports
on board and two Broadcom network cards - these are configured as two
bonded pairs. They're running Fedora Core 3 x86_64.
What do these errors mean, and are they likely to cause a serious
problem? Everything seems OK so far (I've pulled 20GB of data the
network already, no issues).

FC3: ViewSonic VX910 not found
by Richard Emberson
I've got FC3 on a system with a ViewSonic VX910. When I configure
the display, it comes up with a VX900 and there is no VX910
listed in the list of supported displays. Trouble is, the
VX900 only goes upto 1152x864 where as the VX910 goes to
1280x1024.
How can I instruct Fedora that I wish to have a 1280x1024 screen?
Is there an update available that also lists the ViewSonic
VX910?
Thanks
Richard

Boot hangs after snort initialization
by Mark Sargent
Hi All,
my boot hangs after snort is initialized. The last line shown after the snort
initialization message is Enabling swap space OK and then a continually
blinking cursor below it. Nothing is reported in either /var/log/boot.log
or /var/log/messages. Cheers.

Problem with yum
by Hugo Rebello
Guys,
Where can I find the public.gpg.key ?
When I use the "yum install postgresql" I receive the message below.
Thank you.
Cheers,
Hugo
#yum install postgresql
You have enabled checking of packages via GPG keys. This is a good thing.
However, you do not have any GPG public keys installed. You need to download
the keys for packages you wish to install and install them.
You can do that by running the command:
rpm --import public.gpg.key
For more information contact your distribution or package provider.

qt error in Fedora 3

I'm having problems compiling superkaramba in FC 3. It keeps on giving me the following error message upon running configure:

For more details about this problem, look at the end of config.log.
[root@localhost superkaramba-0.35]#
I also ran locate to find out what all of qt I had. Am I missing something? This is a screen dump of my qt locate:
