Question about developing programs...
by Andrew Konosky
I have been writing a small program in C++ with KDevelop to calculate
vectors for physics class, and I have compiled and installed it so that
it runs when I type the command in the console, which is really cool! If
I want to cross-compile it to make a windows version to give to some of
my friends, how would I do that? I'm guessing it would just be a DOS
file, since there is no gui?

postfix bug? kernel bug?
by Steven Pritchard
I'm having a weird problem... I'm trying to set up a mail server for
a client. It's a dual Opteron box with 4GB RAM running FC2/x86_64.
I'm setting it up with amavisd-new, which requires setting up postfix
to listen on a port (so postfix relays to amavisd which relays to
postfix). The initial connection to postfix (port 25) is fine. The
mail is processed by amavisd fine. When amavisd tries to connect to
postfix again, I get this:
==> /var/log/messages <==
Aug 31 23:33:20 foo kernel: smtpd[1665]: segfault at 00000030bf300e20 rip 00000030bf206294 rsp 0000007fbfffd8b0 error 7
==> /var/log/maillog <==
Aug 31 23:33:20 foo postfix/master[1394]: warning: process /usr/libexec/postfix/smtpd pid 1665 killed by signal 11
Aug 31 23:33:20 foo postfix/master[1394]: warning: /usr/libexec/postfix/smtpd: bad command startup -- throttling
I've tried upgrading and downgrading the kernel to every FC2 errata
kernel-smp, plus I've tried kernel-smp-2.6.8-1.533 from rawhide. I've
also tried upgrading postfix to 2.1.4-1 from rawhide. Nothing seems
to change the behavior.
It's entirely possible that I've screwed something up somewhere that
explains all this, but I'm inclined to think not... I've basically
cloned a working config from another (i386) box.
Any ideas would be very welcome...
Steve

iiimf installation
by javajunkie
Hello,
I want to use iiimf but as for installation...
1) there is only a core1 dir for yum
2) the testing guide give vague instructions like download the files and
use the standard rpm -ivh.... but
3) there are 15+ rpms under
http://www.apac.redhat.com/iiimftest/files/fc2/
Do I really need them all?

Re: Red Hat Network Up2Date problem
by ayman sabry
Hi,
I'm not sure but I think you should have a registeration on rhn or simply you can update packages you need directly (via web) from redhat

Red Hat Network Up2Date problem
by neil.derraugh@sympatico.ca
Hi,
The up2date icon on my task bar (system tray?) is telling me there are 6 updates to be had (0 ignored). But when I run the app it, after querying the servers, it tells me that my system is up2date (sorry couldn't resist). This has been going on for several weeks (if not months).
Any one know why? Or how to resolve this issue?
Thanks,

Grub probleme
by François Patte
Bonjour,
I have a laptop with a dual boot XP/FC1; at the beginning, all was working fine
the logging on either FC1 or XP was working. Now I cannot access to XP, when it
is choosed in grub, I can only see
rootnoverify (hd0,0)
chainloader +1
... boot to FC1 works.
What did happen, and what can I do. I dont know anything to XP.
Thank you.

Netgear MA401 PCMCI wireless network adapter
by Fernando & Adriana Messeder
Hi,
I recently installed FC2 on a IBM laptop and since then I'm looking for
instructions on how to install the proper drivers for the MA401 wireless
network adapter.
The problem is that I'm new to linux and all the instructions I have found
so far are not very much step-by-step, rookie oriented style.
Does anyone know about a good list of directions for this?
Regards,
Fernando Messeder.
