F10 uses policykit policy to control shutdown/reboot availability. So, this
shouldn't be an issue anymore. Keep the logout button gconf key enabled, and
lock down
org.freedesktop.consolekit.system.stop
and
org.freedesktop.consolekit.system.restart

I noticed that F10 removes the call to "salsa", in /udev/rules.d/90-alsa...,
with a direct "alsactl" call.
This seems to avoid the issue in F10, maybe a backport could be wise.
Thanks,

In theory, on the other hand, they're both part of the official gnome release,
I believe, so...

Interfere as follows;
I ship a package that deploys hgext/foo. Later, the mercurial team updates the
main HG package to deploy hgext/foo, and their upgrade fails due to collision.
The reason this happens is that we had two different people packaging the same
stuff, and no sensible way in the HG extension directory structure for them to
stay out of each other's way.

How would it interfere? This is no different than many other examples:
emacs/site-list, cron.d, preload.d ...

Re-opening under Fedora 10, as the feature request is still valid.
