Hi everyone!
My name is Léane, I'm from France and I've been translating Fedora into French for a month or so. I'm really glad to be a part of this community, and I'm full of motivation! It's my first time contributing to such a large open-source project, and especially one that aims to push open source forward as a whole.
I've started contributing to Fedora by translating systemd around a year ago, then I recently discovered that there were so many other projects hosted on the Weblate instance. I got kind of bored of translating UIs and programs, so I've started translating docs and improving the website's translation, wanting to give back to the open source community.
My native language is French, I'm fluent in English, and I know a bit of Spanish, but probably not enough to start writing translations.
I work on various other community translation projects, some proprietary (such as Waze) and some open-source (like the PS2 emulator PCSX2, the AUR helper yay, some Android apps such as Smartspacer, Gauguin, KernelSU, and various other smaller projects). I'm a language coordinator in some projects as well.
I have not done translations in a professional context yet, but maybe in the not-so-distant future.
I hope this introduction wasn't too long :) I have a few questions too: - Is there a list, somewhere, referencing the projects that deserve more attention/work? I have trouble identifying where I should really be spending time, and avoiding deprecated stuff. (I spent a lot of time on the system administrator's guide before finding out it was deprecated.) - Should "Fedora Project" be translated? Before finding about the French translation community, I started to replace most "projet Fedora" instances with "Fedora Project" as I incorrectly believed it was a trademark, but I was unable to find a clear stance from the project leadership on this matter. - I'm all for inclusive language, but it is not consensual yet in France and can take many different forms. Does the French localization community have a stance on this?
Thank you in advance, and have a nice day!

Hi Léane,
Welcome on board! :-)
I hope this introduction wasn't too long :)
No! I really enjoyed to read your introduction! :-)
- Is there a list, somewhere, referencing the projects that deserve more attention/work?
Well, you could, for example, go through the failed quality checks in Weblate. I also found a wiki page that lists some important projects / packets: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/L10N_GUI I'm not quite sure whether that's 100% up-to-date or not, but it might at least be a starting point.
Best regards, Dennis (bumblebeeman)
