does anybody what is the new name of redhat-menus ?
i translated my package, made it redhat-menus.mo, put it under /usr/share/locale/LS_MESSAGES (or something like that) and got out of X ? when back in, the translation did not work (i even restarted my sistem).
what is the name (and the place) for redhat-menus ? what can i do to test my translation of the menus ?
also, what is the meaning of 'cvs -z9 traslate' saying '? redhat-config-boot/ro.po' (or other packages, like -rootpassword or -language). know that 'ro.po' are my files (i am the romanian translator, so therefor i got 'ro') ? does this mean they did not get updated on red hat cvs server ?

You need rawhide for the new menus (redhat-menus-1.x). With that the Welsh ones at least now work.

***** can you please give me more details ? what is rawhide ? what do you understand by rawhide ? (pointing me to some documentation is good enough)

rawhide is the current latest packages as they come out of the build system. If you ask yum or up2date to update redhat-menus on an FC2t1 box it'll upgrade the package to 1.x, as the 1.x menu packages appeared a couple of days ago. You will need some of the other updates too

The redhat-menus translations do not use the .mo files (in fact they should not be shipped in the final package at all), the translations are merged in the .desktop files. You'll have to rebuild the package if you want to check the translations. Mirek

***** can you pls tell me how to rebuild rpm packages ? or more likely, how do i open the *.src.rpm, put my ro.po file in it and make it back *.src.rpm. i only know how to make *.src.rpm into *.rpm (rpmbuild --rebuild <package>.src.rpm or something like that) *****
