Hi Noriko,
I think we have to organise several real translation FADs/meetup (I
suggest to have 2 FAD yearly + a single summarizing event), marathons,
and contests and summarize results at every time at DevConf maybe give
away some few limited tshirts as thank you for contributors after
efforts. I don't see (yet) Flock as main translation organising event,
because possibly way more overburden with themes, and never sure that
will fit in always.
Hey, Zoltan
2 FAD yearly with summarizing workshop(?) at appropriate global conf,
sounds pretty much reasonable. I understand 2 FAD here referring cross
languages, please correct me if I misunderstand. My concern is how to
support financially these events.
Just an idea came up in my mind that the language team who is running
more language specific local sprints should be financially supported to
attend the above FAD or conf, I guess.
That will ensure periodically to keep the buzz, and we can talk about
translation, and Zanata development - maybe meet with zanata devs too.
We have to repeat periodically also the improvement suggestions,
problems, communications, talks with a portal - but personally I hate
the Globalization word, and would be better to call it other way.
My expectation to G11N is that stronger binding between l10n, fltg, i18n
and zanata, and that l10n can have stronger and closer support from
other teams more frequent. My understanding is that G11N is for all who
have passion to support non-English environments. I don't actually care
much how it calls. The sound of globalization just give me positive,
bigger or wider coverage impression.
I try to attend at DevConf, so maybe we can talk personally about this
with you and with others too. I would like to see also one
coordinator, and and one person like you who is working to RH, and can
be our relay, binding to the devs. For contributors we have to form
the commitee, and there we can handle every problem - like witch teams
are really still alive? Witch has still leadership, who handles the
translations...
Thanks! wish me luck :-) I will let you know on this list once my
attendance is confirmed. Same with you, I do concern maintaining better
relationship with devs. Also I strongly like to have someone to join
from Zanata team and I18N team, so that we might be able to call this
meet 2nd FAD in cz?
Meanwhile, is any other in this list having interest to attend devconf
or from i18n, zanata, fltg?
Jean-Baptiste solution really amazing, and I think would be perfect to
include in within zanata.
yes, I am thrilled already :-)
