I'd really like to see here the people who loudly voted in favor
of
Zanata (so that Fedora controls its destiny), to put their efforts
where their mouth is and step up, host Zanata and maintain it for
Fedora. If Fedora never really had that option, it was just words.
Well, I wasn't there but it probably was the right choice at this time.
The people did the work to leave a closed source platform and maintained
a system working for years. We can easily move forward for another
open-source tool. The difficult part is to make sure we don't force the
choice and make sure everyone understands the pros and cons.
For the context:
In 2011, Fedora moved to
transifex.com
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Migration_to_Transifex.com?rd=Migration_to...
In 2014, Fedora moved to Zanata
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/L10N_Move_To_Zanata
it's easy to read what was said in the past,
https://lists.fedoraproject.org/pipermail/infrastructure/2014-July/014475...
and I feel like most of what is written is still true.
Note for readers: Dimitris is the transifex creator.
