No you misunderstood me. firefox-language-af-1.0.1.rpm. So you install
the languages you need. Mandrake used to ship FF with all available
language already installed.
Firefox able to check what language locale it runs under under start,
and load the correct xpi (?) for the correct translation - and
eventually fallback to english?
Yes it can. Not sure if it will fallback to English. -UILocale and
friends do that.
