Name: José Fournier Location: Amendeuix-Oneix , half way between Biarritz an Pau, FRANCE Login: jaaf64 Language: French About me: I would like to join the Fedora Project in order to translate wiki pages, documentation pages and localize applications. I have a previous experience of translation in Gentoo . I translated a lot of pages in their previous documentation system and in their new wiki. I also wrote some pages of my own but not that much. What I admired most in Gentoo was the rigor of their distribution and documentation. Nevertheless, for a daily use, it turns a bit complicated for one who is not a computer scientist – and I am not. Thus, I am now interested in participating in something more intended for the General Public – and this is not a derogatory word for me. What caught my attention when I visited the Fedora pages is mainly the same as what I appreciated most in Gentoo, rigor and clarity. I look forward to participating in Fedora. With Best Regards José BTW: I created a FAS account and validated all the steps before arriving to this self introduction mail except one: I could not manage to connect to the wiki in order to create a personal page. My credentials are not accepted there. Welcome José ! I also used Gentoo for a few years and I agree wee can take it has an example for processes. We can also look at Gnome for translation dashboards and web preview of interfaces. And probably from others ! There is a french mailing list where we can discuss this in french. A french explanation is here : https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/File:2015-12-05_La_traduction_de_Fedora_en_Fran%C3%A7ais.pdf About wiki, maybe you have to wait of a few hours, let us know if it worked for the wiki, and also Zanata. Sincerely,
Thank you Jean-Baptiste for your welcome.
I have subscribed to the French list twice, but I have not yet received
any acknowledgment thus I cannot write to it. For the wiki I have not
made any other attempt for the time being.
Thank you also to Sam Friedman who granted me the Editor privileges.
I am glad to join your team and I probably will have questions in a near
future.

Regards.

See, talking about process :)

About French list, you should first receive a mail ton confirm your mail, then we have to confirm you. There is no administration task pending yet, we'll continue this conversation in private mail.

About Zanata, Jérôme Fenal just gave me the right this morning, I'm glad Sam gave you authorization.

About Wiki, let us know.

Cordialement

José
