Two points requires your feedback:

Documentation: adding a new language in the new system is manual, and some details about how to translate asciidoc are to know. We probably have a ask a translation team to first translate a contributor help page before enabling the language for all documentation. Is this principle OK?

FESCo would like to update the policy to something we can easily follow and stick to and that helps our translation teams and package maintainers alike.

* First question: "What exact things are frozen? Things like comps make sense to follow Fedora freezes, but do things like anaconda? or system-config-printer?"

Similar request to this had been raised and sorted out when we had the platform immigration from Trasifex to Zanata. Since then, I am feeling that I need to have closer communication with every developers on this matter. Thank you for raising this again!!

Fedora packages follow Fedora development schedule, while Upstream packages have their own development schedule (answered by FESCo). It would be much translation team friendly if all packages could follow one specific development schedule, but the reality seems not. In short, a package can have their own freeze date apart from Fedora String Freeze, if a maintainer considers so. However, let me execuse for "anaconda", this pkg is special and needs changes by last minutes, and we should maintain closer communication with this team.

     * My suggestion would be to get some help from Fesco to make our translator list (priority package from Zanata) an distribution-wide list.

+1. but it is up to a developer to wish or not wish to have their project to be localized, while again it is up to us, a translator, to want or not want to translate particular project.

 * Second question: "Can we automate some way of enforcing or at least detecting when something changes a string in the freeze?"

+1, good call. This has been discussed, at first G11N FAD in Tokyo, and i18n team took responsibility on this. => Pravin, Tago and Jens?

noriko

     * We are doing a proof of concept with transtats for F28, if this works, it should answer the question :)

Have a nice day,
