I agree that it's too late for breaking the freeze.

Maybe we can consider an alternative, though, since we're still trying
to let the freezes and deadlines thing to sink in everyone's mind. The
devel freeze is in one week, so if Thomas can take the responsibility
of ensuring the package will be rebuilt in 6 days from now, we have 6
days to re-translate these 2 strings. If, furthermore, Thomas will try
to manually change the string in as many language as possible
(basically s/ulticast/multicast), would we like to fix the typo now?

I'd support such decision (as an exception though).

If Thomas agree if this responsibility, I would say OK.
