The error message says it all. With ssh as CVS_RSH, you need only to set
CVSROOT as
export CVSROOT=:ext:abaldwin@i18n.redhat.com:/usr/local/CVS
Also, dont forget to check that you've set the CVS_RSH to "ssh".
Then , when you try to checkout anything, it will ask you the password
for your public key you used when registering for the CVS account (if it
has a password). The password you used (and which you forgot to remove
from the error message) is for the web interface where you take over and
release a module for translation.
