Persian website translation
by Robert Mayr
Hi Persian translators,
please be careful when translating strings with variables. While a simple
wrong translation does not harm to anyone (except to local people who will
note the error), a mistake in a string with web variables will break the
build of the whole website.
Sometimes this can happen and normally I just fix them directly on Zanata,
but this time there were several strings with the same mistake. Maybe you
can ask your coordinator to give you a hand or to review them before saving
them as approved.
I have set them all back for now to the source, in order to get the website
built.
I also think, if you are not able to reach out to the coordinator, you will
find many people on this list who might be willing to help you if you have
doubts.
Thank you for all your work you are doing on the websites, I know it is not
easy sometimes and we need to have a lot of variables in the strings to fit
our needs.
Kind regards.

Hello from Turkey
by Muhammet Kara
Hi all,
This is an over-due introduction. I am Muhammet Kara from Turkey, a Fedora
user and advocate, and member/translator/developer of various FOSS projects.
My contributions to Fedora translations date back to 2011 (on Transifex),
but I haven't been active on the new infra although I translated a few
strings on Zanata on various occasions. (PS: I appreciate an approval for
the cvsl10n group, and an invite for the l10n group.)
Mainly what I do about/for Fedora:
* Use it, and report the bugs I find
* Spread the word about it
* Give Fedora related tech support to friends, family, and usually whoever
asks about it
* Translate Fedora
* Translate/support external upstream projects
Some other FOSS projects I contribute(d) to:
* GNOME
* GNOME Turkish Translation Team (coordinator)
* GNOME Engagement Team (member)
* LibreOffice
* I am a LibreOffice Certified Developer, and core code contributor
* I also work with the Design Team, and the Marketing Team to spread the
love
* KDE
* Retired translator
* The Translation Project
* Translator
I think it is time to revive the Fedora community in Turkey. :)
Cheers,
Muhammet

F28 websites translation string freeze
by Robert Mayr
Hi all,
for F28 final release we are going to have several changes on our websites,
which also means we will have new strings and updated content. That's the
reason why we need to freeze translations at some point.
Actually we are still updating the content, but we didn't push it to Zanata
yet. Before doing so we will stop pulling translations to production until
F28 release date. You will be able to check your work in staging, so please
don't stop translating during the freeze, it's just a way to preserve your
translated strings in production until we merge F28 into master.
As usual I'll send another reminder once we enter the freeze.
Thank you all for your work.
Best regards.
