Greetings fellow Fedorians!

Language: Portuguese
Profession: ATM - Guidance Counselor of sorts but I’ve done plenty of less fancy stuff in the past
About Me:
I started using linux back in 2004 but very intermittently. On and off. More off than on. Eventually 4 years ago I started dual-booting. I gravitated towards debian and debian-based distros namely crunchbang and xubuntu.
But since last year I started using fedora and never looked back! Right now I don’t even dual-boot on my machine.
Me and the Fedora Project:
I’m an avid FOSS advocate and enthusiast. I plan to help the fedora project by being an enthusiast user or “evangelist”! so eventually, when life becomes more stable, to apply to Fedora Ambassador.
Also to help out in the translation from English to Portuguese-PT, particularly on the wiki since it’s a the very first source of information on might access in order to get to know Fedora and it’s Universe.
I really hope to ear from you guys and help a lot this amazing project.
Regards from Portugal!

Early stages on wiki translate/update Portuguese-PT
by pedro andrade
Dear all.
I'm fairly new to the project and to the community, as you all know. I’ve told myself that ill be focusing primarily on translating the wiki as much as possible. But, the wiki page is indeed very vast, so I have talked to the only known active Portuguese Ambassador (@nunor5) and defined that inside the wiki, and giving the current situation of portuguese (portugal) contributors or lack there of, the first part of the wiki I shall tackle the how to contribute to fedora.
it’s very important for newcomers to know how to transform the enthusiasm of the community and of sing Fedora into productive energy, in my opinion.
I’ve already edited a bit the wiki frontpage, and I'll soon be heading towards the proposed objective.
If you have any pointers, pro-tips or advices, they’ll be more than welcome.
Regards and have a great Halloween.

Hey Jona, this is a good question that I do not have the answer for...
:) However, I've directly CC'd Jiri to this email as he is the most
qualified person to answer this.
I've also CC'd the Translation mailing list, since I feel like this is a
discussion that might also be relevant there, depending on how far along
the English one is. For anyone just seeing this, this link might help
explain the idea better:

Sorry for the slow response here.

Hello everybody,
Name: Altan Unsal
Location: Montreal, Canada
FAS login: aunsal
Language: Turkish
Occupation: Certified Translator
About Me: I have recently started contributing to the Fedora translation
project in my native language, Turkish. I am currently working as a
translator, working on mostly technical contracts, specializing in
infrastructure and public engineering works. Although I have an electrical
engineering background, I have been pursuing this instead.
I have been using various GNU/Linux distros since 2007 and started on
Pardus Linux, a distro that was developed by the government of Turkey, but
after years of distro hopping, I have started using Fedora about 2 years
ago. I am also part of various community organizations where I live, in
Montreal, Canada, which promote responsible and social business, such as
urban farming and transportation (mainly cycling). I would like to extend
my advocacy work to FOSS as well and I'm happy to be part of this project
and finally be able to give something back.
Have a great day!
Altan

F25 websites L10n freeze
by Robert Mayr
Dear translators,
today we will enter the final string freeze for Fedora 25.
This means that from now on, and till F25 GA release, new strings will not
make it into production.
New strings will be pulled regularly on staging websites; they are already
online and you will be able to check out the context easily. Please note
that we will probably not be able to release alt.fedoraproject.org in time,
once we have final strings there I will send out a separate mail.
Changes are for FMW and the whole cloud pages, which are being replaced
with Atomic.
Within the next hours you will see new source files on Zanata for
getfedora.org, spins, labs and ARM.
For any doubts just ask, but as I am traveling the next days I might not
reply immediately.
Thanks for your hard work.
Kind regards.
