Websites update for GA
by Kévin Raymond
Hi translators,
Today we have updated the transifex.net websites resources. Changes,
are:
* http://fedoraproject.org website is building (hourly) from the "fedoraproject.org f16-beta branch" transifex resource;
* http://spins.fedoraproject.org website is building (hourly) from the "spins-fedoraproject-org-f16-beta" transifex resource;
* http://stg.fedoraproject.org is going to be built (daily) from the "fedoraproject.org master branch" transifex resource;
* http://spins.stg.fedoraproject.org is going to be built (daily) from the "spins.fedoraproject.org" transifex resource.
Those changes are here to provide staging websites that would be pushed at
the Fedora 16 release time (November, the 8th). Please, correct
translations by that time. Easy to remember, resources flagged as Urgent
(red flag) are the staging ones, you should use the first two resources only
to correct typos.
Spins website will have new pages in order to welcome newly created
spins!
Happy translating,
and please, let us know if you find any typo.
Best Regards,

A list of contributors would be great, but we haven't figured out how to
do that. In the past we have tried but have never been able to get it
right, especially with the translators. Perhaps the new tx offers some
options we haven't examined. For writers, we can check the wiki
history, git commits and bugzilla, but there tend to be a lot of
translators that we don't know how to identify.
As far as the revision history, that is necessary. However, I also
question the value of translating it.

Re: Release Notes
by John J. McDonough
The translator information in the po files are sometimes a little
rough ... look at
http://jjmcd.fedorapeople.org/Download/Contributors/apas02.html
for example.
Still, pulling this from the po files is reasonable, if not much fun.
In fact, pulling the author information from the wiki is more tedious.
I can see Domingo's approach working for F17, but haven't tested it yet.
This issue for F16 is that there are a number of sequential steps, and
I'm not so sure we can get this complete within a few weeks.
1) Add the translator-credits to the source
2) Rebuild and push the POTs
3) Translators update POs
4) Pull the updated POs
5) Rebuild the release notes
6) Rebuild the RPM
7) Push to docs.fp.o
None of these are terribly difficult, but they need to happen one after
the other, and likely that will stretch out. There are a couple dozen
translators, and getting them all headed west has to take some time. A
big advantage, though, is that the translator information is more likely
to be a bit more consistent than what is currently in the POs.
Of course, there is no reason we couldn't push yet another RPM to
updates after release. The RPM is actually quite a bit easier than
pushing to docs.fedoraproject.org.
By the way, last night at the go/no-go meeting it was agreed that we
would try to squeeze the latest release notes RPM into the release.
This is the version that includes a half-dozen translations. The RPM
that got pushed on schedule was English only. Thanks to Nick Bebout for
pushing this.

Hi translation team
The guides in the subject will get push of available RH translation.
Here is the list of the languages which may have a chance to get RH
translation. I am not sure which language has been fully translated and
which has not been though. You can check at www.redhat.com/docs/
Chinese (China)
Chinese (Taiwan)
Japanese
Korean
Spanish
French
Italian
German
Russian
Portuguese (Brazilian)
In case any team above does not wish to have this push, please advise to
Martin so.
Thank you Martin again!
