New tasks to add to schedule?
by John Poelstra
Based on the results of this ticket
https://fedorahosted.org/fesco/ticket/243
What additional tasks should I add to the translation schedule... same
questions as always .... :)
1) Name of task(s)
2) When does it start
3) Does it depend on another task ending and if so which one is it?
4) Number of days the task takes
Thanks,
John

% entries in virt-p2v
by Kiyoto James Hashida
Hi, Fedora people.
I have just finished translating this virt-p2v>tip file.
But I am not sure if the English source is all correct.
There are some % symbols alone here and there.
I wonder if it is a mistake for %s or %d.....
For instance,
"\\nSending /dev/%s (%.3f GB) to remote machine\\n\\n%!"
and "(about %.0f minutes remaining)"
Without knowing if it is a string or a number, it is difficult to
set up the word order in a foreign language.
Any idea, anyone?
James

[Bug 493130] New: Some gnome-main-menu entries have ' ' signs in Portuguese (PT) Fedora

Summary: Some gnome-main-menu entries have ' ' signs in
Portuguese (PT) Fedora
Product: Fedora Localization
Version: unspecified

This is more a of suggestion. In some gnome-main-menu entries you have some
terms, which are not translated because there is no proper portuguese
translation for them and it's common to use the english word instead, you have
'Firewall' and 'Senha de Root' (root password). I think the '' signs don«t look
very good in a menu like this, although I agree they can be used in general
text.
So my suggestion is to remove the '' signs from these menu entries.
Thanks!
Reproducible: Always

New at Fedora Translation Project
by Juanjo Escribano
Hi, this is the self presentation mail at Fedora Translation Project ...
My name is Juanjo Escribano (Juanjo is a short version of Juan José, but
only my mother calls me that way :P )
I'm from Madrid (Spain). I studied computer engineering at Universidad
Politécnica, in Madrid. I work as a software developer in Madrid too.
I have been using Linux since 1998. I started with a Slackware distribution,
and I have used Red Hat, Fedora, CenOS, Debian and Ubuntu too :) ...
I have never worked in a Translation Project, but I think I can do It for
the Spanish Fedora Community. This is my first Fedora Proyect, but maybe ,
in a future, I could join the developers group and mantain some package ...
who knows :)
As I'm new at Fedora Project, I apologize for the mistakes I could make.

New entry of Build F12 collection packages for all language translators' review and correction
by Noriko Mizumoto
To packagers who are listed below,
New entry will be introduced into the devel-task-list:
"Build F12 collection packages for all language translators' review and
correction"
Start: 2009-09-11 End: 2009-09-14
This entry requires you to rebuild your package with latest translation
by 2009-09-14, so that a release to be made straight after exclusively
for translators' review (note, this is different from the entry of
Software: Rebuild all translated packages). This is for high standard of
translation quality, and has been accepted on 2009-09-04 by FESCo. The
detail why accepted can be found at [1]. The detail what to be happened
at L10N team side can be found at [2].
For communicating and tracking purpose a bug will be created soon
against each package, as well everyone of you will be pinged for reminder.
Please notice that amazingly F12 has been translated into 52 language
with more than 40% completion so far, and the percentage as well the
number of languages are aggressively growing.
Your understanding and action are highly appreciated.
Thank you so much for your support to Localization team.

Request to break the string freeze for imsettings
by Akira TAGOH
Hi,
I'd like to update the translation for imsettings to fix a
bug filed at https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=521753
how many strings will be broken: PO files that is 100%
translated will has 8 fuzzy translations.
Why it's important: there are some unclear sentence. this
fix is to get better translations and not confuse users with
it.
Impact of not doing this: users will get unclear
translations or some strings may not translated perhaps.
Thanks,

Question regarding "About this computer" for gnome-system-monitor
by Yuliya Poyarkova
Hi all,
I recieved a request for adding Russian translation of "About this
computer" line for gnome-system-monitor. I was wondering if anyone knows
whether this has been integrated into that gnome package. If not, what
is the procedure for adding / modifying translation?
related bug: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=437997
Thank you,
Yulia
