RHEL localization project?
by Xavi Conde
Hi,
since RHEL 5.3 has been released, I was wondering if there's a
localization project for it. Since some of the translations of fedora
and RHEL are in different branches, we should take care of that and
receive notification of RHEL deadlines, etc. as we do for Fedora
release cycle.
If there's no RHEL localization project, then this team should
interface with this list and send us up-to-date schedules so we can
arrange translations for RHEL.
Best regards!

local translation of the term 'untrusted'
by Richard van der Luit
Hi all,
Because the term 'untrusted' (as in 'untrusted connection' and
'untrusted local file') is actually a new word, only used in
compu-world, how do you all translate this to your own languish?
I am on a quest here, coz every dutch term i use doesn't actually catch
it...*panic*
from wikipedia:
The term, "untrusted" is used exclusively in the field of computer
science and information security to denote code from an unknown source
that may be potentially harmful to a system. It is distinguished from
"untrustworthy" or "distrusted" in that the code may be useful and
completely benign, whereas the terms "untrustworthy" and "distrusted"
suggest something about the subject (whether it is a person or thing)
that suggests that the person or thing is not to be trusted.(...) An
"untrusted" code however, is simply code that has not met predefined
requirements to be trusted, e.g., completed an authentication protocol
to verify that it came from a trusted source
(Is there an other list to ask questions like this btw?)
regards
Richard van der Luit

Self Introduction: Wang Zeguo
by Zak Wang
Hello everybody, I'm Wang Zeguo from Hunan, China. I name myself Zak on
the Internet. So be free to use that name if you think it's more
convenient for you.
I'm currently a senior university student major in English(E-Commerce)
and have been interested in Fedora and open-source since my junior year.
Having received that much help from those warm guys in the official
forum, I wish so much to contribute to the others.
Being a student in linguistics though, I am not a plain linguistic
person. Besides my curriculum, I read about computer software and have
put some practice into it. So I have a rough idea about how software and
systems run.
Fedora 9 is the system I'm running on my laptop, and I'm still trying
out different distros both on my spared partition and on VirtualBox. But
there is only these installing and reinstalling things going around,
resulting nothing helpful really. Yet I still find Fedora 9 to be the
most comfortable one for me. I feel happy in this system and this
community.
I want to take this chance to deliver some real help to the Fedora
community or as a part of it and would like to make a lot of friends out
of here.
Thanks!
