bug 242106
by Domingo Becker
Could someone help me closing the bug 242106 ?
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=242106
There is no way to make these people understand that the current
active release is Fedora 9.
The bug was against Fedora 7.
I would really appreciate it.
Another question: can this be considered an abuse ?
Thanks and kind regards

Summary:
---------

on May 13 11 UTC (in 2 weeks)
* Action: Post results to -trans-announce, fedora-announce-list, FWN,
and blogs (glezos, couf, all)
* Action: Think of ways to increase the community participation from
the internal teams (noriko, glezos, all)
- Increase the coverage of the release notes with the languages the
internal teams are working on (target: F10) (ankit, noriko)
- Ideally do this with more (all) Docs as well
* Keep regular good communication of the meetings and committee
decisions (whole FLSCo, esp. the secretary)
- The committee's role is accountability and community
representation when needed. The way the FLP works internally will
continue it's good way of working.

~5 people will work on our tools in the next months.
- Action: Send more translations to PackageKit (all)

[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:17:37] <glezos> okey, who else is around?

quick one?
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:21:48] <glezos> noriko: ok
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:21:55] <glezos> noriko: let's have it in here, shall
we?
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:22:09] <Rasther> ok
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:22:14] <noriko> anywhere fine :)
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:22:27] <glezos> okey
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:22:48] <glezos> so the Election period is over, Toshio
sent me the results and they've been published on -trans-list
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:22:59] <glezos> congrats to all who were elected
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:23:17] <Rasther> contrats to all :)

[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:23:48] <noriko> congrats to all!!~~
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:23:56] <glezos> I was thinking of waiting until
tomorrow and announce on -trans-announce and fedora-announce-list
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:24:33] <Rasther> glezos: why?
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:25:21] <glezos> Rasther: dunno, just in case someone
had any concerns or something.
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:25:50] <glezos> It's great to see a great community
participation in the committee, spanned across the globe!
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:26:29] <glezos> Hopefully in the next elections we'll
have someone from our India office as well
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:26:54] <glezos> :)
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:26:58] <Rasther> cool
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:28:03] <glezos> Thinking of what the active
responsibilities of FLSCo will be, I can think of Meetings and String freeze
break approvals.
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:28:54] <glezos> Of course anyone is welcome to
participate as usual in the meetings, however FLSCo members would be highly
encouraged to participate in the meetings.
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:29:06] <glezos> or else.
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:29:07] <glezos> :)

peopel
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:29:49] <glezos> noriko: from what I've seen, they're a
great team.
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:30:11] <noriko> yes, I am strongly beliebing so.
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:30:28] <glezos> I'd like to continue thinking of ways
to increase the community participation from the internal teams
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:30:29] Entrada - hers_ juntou-se a este canal
(n=yuan@fedora/hers).
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:30:48] <glezos> 'cause the more we do on the Fedora
land, the more benefit we can have for internal projects like RHEL etc.
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:30:55] <ankit> oh hi
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:31:06] <ankit> sorry, was busy doing something
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:31:14] Sair hers deixou este servidor (Nick collision
from services.).
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:31:16] Apelido hers_ está conhecido agora como hers.
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:31:25] Sair pravins deixou este servidor ("Leaving").
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:31:49] <glezos> All I hear in conferences is "The
better Fedora does, the better Red Hat does", so let's try to work towards
using the benefits of both teams to cook up better results (both in terms of
coverage and quality)
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:31:58] <noriko> hi ankit
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:32:05] <ankit> hi noriko glezos
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:32:50] Sair sandeeps deixou este servidor ("Leaving").
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:33:39] <glezos> hey ankit, how are you?
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:33:57] * ankit good, pls carry on with the meeting,
sorry for interupting in btw...
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:34:26] <noriko> glezos, Rasther, ankit, to cerablate
the date of today, where can we start with?
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:34:42] <glezos> ankit: Since we're on the subject, is
there a way to increase the coverage of the release notes with the languages
the internal teams are working on?
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:35:05] <glezos> the deadline for F9 relnotes was
today, so I guess we're talking about F10.
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:35:45] <glezos> noriko: blog posts, get it in Fedora
Weekly News, etc.?
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:36:13] <ankit> glezos: we could do it, no worries, of
course for F10
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:36:15] <noriko> F10 where we want to be and what we
could not make but will do it?
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:36:38] <noriko> could not make in F9
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:36:47] <glezos> noriko: sorry?
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:36:56] <mishti> is the meeting here?
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:37:07] <glezos> mishti: sort of :)
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:37:09] <noriko> yo mishti
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:37:12] <mishti> oh ok
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:37:16] <mishti> hey glezos noriko
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:37:33] <mishti> congratulations to all the FLSCo
members... :)
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:37:43] <noriko> glezos: yeah, how about to start with
putting up the goal for F10?
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:38:26] <glezos> ankit: awesome. It seems the whole
Documentation is a bit behind in non-mainstream languages, so maybe
disucssing with internal translators the idea of working a bit on them,
would be great.
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:38:59] <glezos> Except relnotes, the other documents
don't change much from release to release, so we could head-start them as
well and not wait until 2 months before the release.
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:39:15] <glezos> noriko: yeah, it's a good goal.
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:39:25] Entrada - bashohII juntou-se a este canal (n=
bashohII(a)60-62-87-130.rev.home.ne.jp).
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:40:27] <glezos> anyting else on the subject?
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:41:02] <glezos> (that is, non-mainstream lang coverage
increase for F10 and FLSCo)
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:42:04] <glezos> okey. any other subject we'd like to
discuss?
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:42:10] <mishti> glezos, one thing
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:42:23] <glezos> mishti: fire away
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:42:32] <mishti> will the FLSCo send out summarized
minutes of their meetings for everyone else
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:42:34] <mishti> ?
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:43:34] <mishti> glezos, a regular communication of the
commitee decisions is what i meant
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:45:45] <noriko> +10
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:46:07] Entrada - glezos_ juntou-se a este canal (n=
glezos(a)ppp246-136.adsl.forthnet.gr).
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:46:23] <noriko> communicate and toss a ball what we
are discussing is critial
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:46:29] <glezos_> sorry, got disconnected.
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:47:00] * mishti repeats just in cases glezos_ missed
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:47:02] Sair glezos deixou este servidor (Nick

[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:47:06] Apelido glezos_ está conhecido agora como

[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:47:07] <mishti> will the FLSCo send out summarized
minutes of their meetings for everyone else
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:47:12] <mishti> glezos, a regular communication of the
commitee decisions is what i meant
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:47:47] <glezos> mishti: definitely. I wouldn't like to
change anything we regularly do because of the FLSCo creation.
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:48:29] <mishti> glezos, that would be nice. thanks
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:48:43] <glezos> The committee's role is accountability
and community representation when needed. The way the FLP works internally
will continue it's good way of working.
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:49:05] <glezos> mishti: I'd like you to attend the
meetings as well, if possible. :)
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:49:37] <mishti> glezos, maybe next term. if i make
into the committee
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:49:39] <mishti> :P
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:49:42] <glezos> and consider running for the next
FLSCo. Your role in the project and opinion are highly respected
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:49:50] <mishti> glezos, thanks. sure will. :)
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:49:58] <glezos> At least for me, but I'm sure most
people agree.
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:50:02] <glezos> anyway.
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:50:11] <glezos> On the toolchain side of things:
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:50:20] <glezos> We've got 3 GSoC applications accepted
for Transifex
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:51:02] <glezos> asgeirf has been working on some bits
as well
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:51:03] <glezos> And I'll start working on Tx full time
from... yesterday.
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:51:21] <glezos> So a lot of new and exciting features
are planned. :)
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:51:46] <glezos> I guess you already read that hughsie
added PackageKit in Tx -- so please send translations away.
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:52:11] Sair hers deixou este servidor (No route to
host).
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:53:06] <glezos> any other topic?
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:53:39] * mishti doesnt have any more
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:54:35] <glezos> all righty then
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:55:19] <glezos> oh, I neglected to mention that one of
those 3 apps was Diego (Rasther)
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:55:43] * glezos high-5s Rasther
[Ter Abr 29 2008] [09:55:56] <Rasther> glezos: k :)

Hello, I'm planning to get involved on the Fedora Project as a part of
the on tranlation team. But I have been trying to subscribe to the
fedora-trans-es mailing list for days now, without any luck. I already
set up my accounts (fedora, bugzilla, wiki) and subscribed to the
general fedora-trans-list, but this localized mailing list keeps
ignoring me. I would appreciate any help.
Thanks,
Rafael F. Compte

fedora-release-notes-9.0.0-1
by Paul W. Frields
I imported the new fedora-release-notes SRPM into the Fedora package CVS
tonight.
Our amazing translation teams provided a huge amount of work for this
package, including *ELEVEN* (11) fully finished translations of the
Release Notes! You guys never cease to amaze me. Thanks to all the
teams, not to mention Dimitris Glezos for his Transifex tool that many
of you used to submit translations.
Murray McAllister, Marc Wiriadistra, and Karsten Wade did a bunch of
hard labor to get things working on the Docs side.
Translators, keep in mind that there is still time to work on Docs
modules such as the Release Notes and related pieces. We will pick up
finished work around 2359 UTC on 2008-05-12, to make a zero-day update
of the release notes.
Congratulations everyone, and thank you from the whole Fedora community!

Translating Sulphur
by Juan M. Rodriguez
Versión en Español al final del correo.
Good Day,
I was wondering how should translators handle "Fedora 9 Sulphur". (and all
later, and previous releases)
Should it be translated into the local language, or since its been
copyrighted/trademarked by Red Hat Legal, we should leave it as-is?
"IANAL", but as far as I know, IP (Intelectual Property) laws sort of
restrict translating names. I'd appreciate insight on the topic!
Thanks for your time!
------------
Buen Dia,
lista. Apreciaría sus comentarios y opiniones.
Gracias por su tiempo!
