Translation tools for Fedora Project

Hello Everyone! For those who don't know me, I'm the Brazilian Portuguese translator at Red Hat Brisbane, Australia. We are putting together some translation tools, so we can provide a well-compiled guide for new people willing to translate the Fedora Project. There are some must-have tools nominated below, but we'd like to know what else you think should be approached in these translation tools (please, have in mind the Linux and Fedora Project newbies): - CVS - Kbabel - PO format Thanks for listening! Thanks. It helps to solve this problem. So I can get all CVS repository. But what next? I want to make a translation to a new language (Armenian - am). Is it enaugh to make am.po files for all subdirectories? And what about font files? Well, I'm a new contributor... I can translate to Italian but I don't know how.. I mean, I subscribed to the fedora-trans-it mailing list, but there isn't anyone who can give me any information.. I wanna translate... which project needs translation? Where can I start? (I've already set up my connection to the CVS repository) Thank you, Paolo

fedora-trans component missing in Bugzilla?

I tried to find current and previous bugs and also RFEs for fedora-trans but couldn't find any. This seemed weird and I tried to enter one myself - and indeed - there's no fedora-trans component in component list. Is it just me or is it really missing? Regards Antti

Some packages are removed from RawHide 2004-01-24

Hello, Todays RawHide report: 20040124 changes shows, Removed package redhat-logviewer **Removed package redhat-config-packages Removed package redhat-config-httpd **Removed package redhat-config-proc **Removed package redhat-switch-mail Removed package emacspeak I had already translated these ** marked packages! Now these will be removed from Fedora? :-S Are there any other packages in the queue - to be removed? So we can avoid wasting time on those... Thanks, `Jamil

Help for cvs timeout

Hello, I am very new to translate Fedora and I have problems when I start to work on translating: 1. I filled http://i18n.redhat.com/cgi-bin/i18n-signup registeration page and get confirmation mail from admins. 2. I set CVSROOT directory with CVSROOT=:ext:<my username>@i18n.redhat.com:/usr/local/CVS 3. I start following command: cvs -z9 co translate But when I start cvs just waits for about 3-4 minutes and afterwards I get following error: elvis.redhat.com: Connection timed out cvs [checkout aborted]: end of file from server (consult above messages if any) Any idea? Hi, On the Statistic page is two rows for the sum - Total and Essential. Is somewhere a list of which packages are essential and which aren't? Allan Sims allsi(a)eau.ee
