You know, I have never looked in to that before. I often erase it
when I do my summary, but there may be a purpose. So I asked Ian
Weller, Fedora Project's Wiki Czar, and he pointed me here:

So, it turns out it's useful! Also, that page answers your specific
question, which is to put the summary following the /* */ block.
