Dwaine.
It's a PATA drive being driven by SATA interface (the machine is a
notebook). Prior to this kernel version, the drive was driven by the
SATA code (HD was /dev/sda). Now it might be attempting to use the ide
code (dmesg is not saved, so I'm going by memory).
