Hi
I tried to install Fedora 9 Alpha (64 bit) on my LG E500 laptop.
It shows the message
vmlinuz is loading................................
initrd is loading............................
Ready.
After that sytem hangs.
Can you get any further if you will add 'acpi=off' to boot
arguments? If yes then most likely it means that what ACPI support
gets from your BIOS somewhat differs from reality.
'acpi=off' is a very big hammer and it may or may not work. There
are other things to try. Help screens at least used to suggest some
possibilities although I am not sure about what they do in what you
are trying to use.
I could install openSuse.
That would mean that some combination of extra kernel options most
likely should work. Is it possible to get a BIOS update for your
laptop?
