Sorry to say, but happily at-least the issue is not with firefox. The
last update gave me following of which i have tested the neither
Firefox [hung when it was not running ] nor the kernel [switching off
to old one] is the culprit. Any pointers to locate the issue please

of those, glibc would seem to be the most likely cause. followed by
ibus-anthy, I guess, if you use it.
