it never was supplied as a module in Fedora. I don't remember when it
was taken out of redhat, if it was ever supplied as a pre-built module
(although my memory isn't good :)
Its always been in the kernel source though, redhat patched or vanilla.
I have always used the modules from

is there anything in Core 2 that will prevent the use such packages?
I really hope we won't have to deal with any thing harder than this:
1. install the rpm,
2. modprobe the module
3. mount the partition
