binutils-2.31.1-34.fc30 (FEDORA-2019-d3a867a569)
A GNU collection of binary utilities
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Update Information:
A recent update to the binutils package for F31 and F30 has improved the note
merging abilities of the objdump program. This is significant because this note
merging is now part of the standard rpm build sequence and the size reduction
can be quite noticeable. For example the merge can reduce the size of the
annobin build notes in the libc.so executable from 3.8Mb down to 3.7Kb. (Ie
megabytes to kilobytes). Although this change should not be directly visible to
users, it would be helpful to have it in the build system, and this should help
to reduce the size of many compiled packages.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ChangeLog:
* Thu Oct 31 2019 Nick Clifton <nickc(a)redhat.com> - 2.31.1-34
- Improve objcopy's ability to merge GNU build attribute notes.

perl-Net-SSLeay-1.85-11.fc30 (FEDORA-2019-3de21c0da4)
Perl extension for using OpenSSL
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Update Information:
This update addresses a problem that the package failed to rebuild from source
with the openssl packages in the updates repository, which no longer have a
dependency on the zlib-devel package. The Net-SSLeay build scripts assume that
OpenSSL is linked against zlib, which is no longer the case, and this caused the
failure to build. The update fixes this by checking at build time which
libraries need to be linked against for OpenSSL.
