The system IS bootable into F21 from the prior installation. But it has
been sitting here 'probing storage' for the past 10 min.
I suspect this has something to do with the nvram problem and whatever the
install did to get past that and what state the installation now thinks the
system is in.

Try to provide any information you can. If it hangs long enough, if
you can get to a shell and do this:
echo 1 >/proc/sys/kernel/sysrq
echo w > /proc/sysrq-trigger
echo t > /proc/sysrq-trigger
dmesg > dmesg.txt
Attach dmesg.txt to the bug report, and include the above commands as
a comment. Maybe someone can figure out what's blocked, or otherwise
misbehaving, if it's kernel related.
