Using kernel-2.6.15-1.1825_FC4 I'm not seeing my sata DVD drive as
a /dev/sdc.
Previous versions saw the drive as a scsi drive, but this time it's
seeing it as /dev/hdc.
Unfortunately, I updated to both udev and the new kernel at the same
time, so this might be kernel related.
I'm going to try the older kernel to check and will report soon.
have you changed any options in the bios ? Usually this happens
if you disable/enable 'combined mode' (sometimes referred to as 'legacy')
