Hi chris i always use uget for manage my downloads. You can stop, pause and reinit any download. Maybe this would be a good option for you.

Didn't try it. It looks like curl -C - is the functional equivalent.
If that doesn't work I'll see about wget -c. It's sorta surprising
this doesn't work better by default in Firefox though. I'm 1 for 5
attempts today, and more than 50% downloaded and Firefox just gives up
"failed" with no further info or option to try to resume.
