That seems similar to the behavior I'm seeing, but I have a crt, and it
doesn't seem to happen randomly for me. It only seems to happen if the
screensaver activates because the computer is idle, and I then
reactivate the screen before power save happens. The power save then
seems to happen on schedule, even though the computer is no longer
idle. They are currently set to 15 min for idle, 17 min for
powersave. The put computer to sleep value is currently 1 hour.
I'll lower the values on everything to a minute and three and see if I
can reproduce it.
Conversely, I'll change the values back to the original values they were
set at, where it never happened, and see if it stops happening.
put computer to sleep when inactive for - never
computer is idle after - 1 hour, activate screensaver
put monitor to sleep after - 30 minutes
Just to note, from your description it does indeed sound like a
different issue.
