The problem is that then *all* your parallel processes will most likely
be waiting on disk I/O, then. :)
True. OTOH, especially with nice things like TCQ-capable SATA disks on
the horizon, that might not be such a bad thing. It'd be an interesting
thing to try out ... I might have a fiddle and see what happens.
