I booted up in runlevel 3 where the control and alternate keys
worked. I opened up a terminal for root and for regular user. Maybe it
is broken for the GUI in general, X marks th spot?
Yep, the spanish keys (ñ and such) and alt-Fx do work in runlevel 3, but I
have to system-config-keyboard to have them in X. No alt, etc in X.
