GNOME shell broken after suspend and resume for driver r300_dri
by Christoph Frieben
Can anybody report success for the suspend and resume cycle triggered
from within the GNOME shell when the graphics card is based on some
R300/R400 variant? In my case, the shell is still broken after resume.
The video device is some ATI Radeon X800 card which is using the R420
chip. Only a black desktop, a mouse pointer and the GNOME panel are
visible after resume. The desktop is not completely frozen since I am
still able to move the mouse pointer. It is also possible to switch to
a VT in order to reboot the system. Thanks, ~C
PS: The F15 development cycle is nearing completion, and in my
opinion, this is a major usability issue.

#270: Proposed Test Day - Sugar Desktop

The Sugar (www.sugarlabs.org) desktop is being ported to GTK3. Early
versions of this code already are in Rawhide, and the final version is
expected to land in Fedora 17.
We therefore think it would be a good idea to schedule a test day for
Sugar and the SoaS Fedora Spin during the Fedora 17 time frame. March 22
is probably best, although other open test days in March will work as
well.
For reference, the schedule for Sugar 0.95/0.96 may be found at

Installation from USB-written images (3/5): Live.iso + LiveCD-tools
by Josef Skladanka
This testcase [1] should ensure, that if the user uses LiveCD tools to transfer the Fedora Live.iso to USB stick, the boot process works 'as expected'.
I propose this as a Alpha verification testcase.
---------------------------
= Description =
This test verifies that Fedora Live Image can be booted from USB stick.
There are more methods to create the Live USB stick, this test covers Livecd-tools.
== Setup ==
* Prepare the Live ISO image and USB stick.
* Copy the Live.iso to the USB stick using LiveCD tools [2]
== How to test ==
* Insert the USB stick containing Live.iso, and boot the system under test
* At the boot prompt, interrupt the automatic boot sequence by pressing any key. Then select the menu option Boot.
== Expected Results ==
* A graphical boot menu is displayed and the graphics look reasonably good. While hi-res images aren't supported in the boot menu, the graphics should not look extremely pixelated.
* Upon selecting Boot, the Live image boots successfully.
