= problem =
During Fedora 13, karma from members of the FAS 'qa' group was required
for critical path package updates. We don't have a clear process for
joining and contributing to this effort.
= analysis =
Not much else to say here. We have critical path packages that need
testing.
= enhancement recommendation =
Some of this is already complete, or inprogress (thanks dafrito,
maxamillion and adamw)
1. document how people can join -
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/QA/JoinProvenTesters
2. document what is expected of members -
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Proven_tester
3. What else?

As talked with Igor in test list, this test day will be held on
2010/09/09, this ticket is used to track this event.[[BR]]
So far, we have [https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Category:I18n_Installation
Category:I18n_Installation] as test cases for this test day. But these
tests need be modified, and maybe new tests will be added to have a better
coverage for testing. [[BR]]
Please mark this day in your calender, and help gathering participation by
announcing it both inside and outside the teams when it's coming. [[BR]]
If you have any concern, feel free to reply directly in this ticket.
[[BR]]

Many thanks,[[BR]]

Where is runlevel 5?
by Tom Horsley
My continuing adventures in fedora 14 alpha have finally
gotten it installed, and I can even boot, but it insists
on coming up in runlevel 3 (apparently). It won't start
KDM and I get no graphical login.
I have edited /etc/inittab to change :3: to :5: in the
one line in there, but that didn't change anything.
(Apparently it picked runlevel 3 as the default because
X wouldn't work in the installer and I had to use VNC).
I can't find any logs that make it appear as though it
even attempted to start X, but if I run "startx" manually
after a console login, X starts up fine and everything
appears to work, so there shouldn't be any fundamental
obstacle blocking X startup.
I'm completely mystified, and I can't find any place
that any upstart script would be starting it to even
attempt to add debug code.

Firefox out of date
by David
The current Firefox 4.0 is beta 4 with beta 5 scheduled for release
(Tentative) Sept 6, 2010.
The current stable release of Firefox is 3.6.8 with the release for
Firefox 3.6.9 also scheduled for release on Sept 7, 2010.
The current version of Firefox in both f-14 and Rawhide is 3.6.4.
Did I miss something? Would anyone know why Firefox is so far out of date?

also,
