Time to set a schedule for Fedora 15
Based on what we experienced in Fedora 13 and Fedora 14, should we
continue with the same schedule methodology as it pertains to test
releases, etc?
It would be helpful to get feedback within the next week so Release
Engineering can discuss and pass the schedule on to FESCo for approval.

Dear folks,
I have updated two working Fedora 14 machines to rawhide and have encountered several issues. On the only box that I can get X

Greetings:
Today, I updated my fc14 fully updated system to rawhide! I didn't get the problem of
** could not write bytes: broken pipe like I had been over the last week! Good job and thank you for fixing this one...
I did get a new one today:
** could not connect to tty, dropping to debug shell...
from there, I got a dracut prompt...
Is there a possible workaround that I can execute from the debug shell to fix this error until a fix can be assessed?
I appreciate the help that this list always seems to give in abundance!!!
Sincerely yours,
Rob G. Healey

proftpd-1.3.3c-1.fc12 (FEDORA-2010-17220)
Flexible, stable and highly-configurable FTP server
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Update Information:
This is an update to the current upstream maintenance release, which addresses two security issues that can be exploited by malicious users to manipulate certain data and compromise a vulnerable system.
* A logic error in the code for processing user input containing the Telnet IAC (Interpret As Command) escape sequence can be exploited to cause a stack-based buffer overflow by sending specially crafted input to the FTP or FTPS service. Successful exploitation may allow execution of arbitrary code. There isn't currently a CVE number for this issue but the original reporter of the problem has tagged this as ZDI-CAN-925. More details can be found at http://bugs.proftpd.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3521
* An input validation error within the "mod_site_misc" module can be exploited to e.g. create and delete directories, create symlinks, and change the time of files located outside a writable directory. Only configurations using "mod_site_misc", which is not enabled by default, and where the attacker has write access to a directory, are vulnerable to this issue, which has been assigned CVE-2010-3867. More details can be found at http://bugs.proftpd.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3519
The update from 1.3.2d to 1.3.3c also includes a large number of non-security bugfixes and a number of additional loadable modules for enhanced functionality:
* mod_geoip
* mod_sftp
* mod_sftp_pam
* mod_sftp_sql
* mod_shaper
* mod_sql_passwd
* mod_tls_shmcache
There is also a new utility "ftpscrub" for scrubbing the scoreboard file.

Good evening

at Fedora and would like to find a mentor to become even better
Thank you very much

Hello People,
I have to work on a project that makes use of webservices and hence i
needed SoapUI, but YUM fails to search for any package named 'soupui'.
Is it not bundled in Fedora repos. I have fedora and rpmfusion
configured.
Or is there any alternative that can be used. Please help.

Thanks
Saurabh
Under F14 when the system starts i'm missing to see the splash screen
that used to be there under F12. Even punching 'e' to edit the kernel
parameters at the Boot Screen don't solve the problem. All that i see
during that time is a blinking cursor in the top left corner and then
directly the playmouth theme, showing loadig of fedora.
I googled to see where will that thing be logged so that i can post
the logs and also did looked up a couple of files, but i was not able
to locate the issue. Please help in resolving the issue if other are
also faciing it.
Thanks
Saurabh

Personally I would rather have it earlier than later, but that wouldn't
probably work for people on the west coast. So 16:00 UTC seems to be
a reasonable compromise.
