I enabled all yum rawhide repositories along with all Fedora 11
(x86-64) repos including updates-testing.
Naturally the dependencies could not be resolved by yum. So I removed
lzma, man and plenty of devel stuff and upgraded it to a system with
broken rpm (lzma lib problem)
Otherwise the system is fairly ok. I think the easiest way to resolve
it should be through an upgrade to F12 alpha. Any other suggestions?

For the last couple of weeks I have noticed that the Gnome Notification Area
Applet is showing just grey boxes most of the time. Occasionally I will get
the Icons but usually its grey boxes. If I move my cursor over the boxes I
sometimes get the data about the Icons I cannot see. I have tries removing
it from the panel and re adding it to no avail. I am running x86-64 with an
Intel display driver on an Asus Aspire 5315, the display hardware is the
onboard Intel GM965/GL960 controller. Anybody else having./had similar

Over the last week or more my rawhide AMD x86_64 system w/nvidia GeForce
8600 card has not been working correctly. If I use nv driver, X will not
start and just hangs showing the last startup text. CTL-ALT-F2 will get a
login screen. If I use vesa driver, it also hangs, but shows weird lines on
top and old startup text on bottom of screen. CTL-ALT-F2 gives a black
screen with no login prompt. I must do reset to restart machine. If I use
the nouveau driver, X will start, but the screen is very dark. I am able to
login to kde or gnome. I am at the 118 kernel. I think the last one that
worked was in the 60's. Anybody have something to try? Any idea what is

Any chance that DVD deltaisos could be made available in the Fedora
development process (with the F12 Alpha TC as the starting point) since
the i686 rebuild and the switch to XZ payloads is now complete, and the
F11 version of rpm now has XZ support? I realize that rsync was tried
and failed, but unlike rsync, disos have been successfully used in
OpenSUSE development for years - for example
and they work equally well on any RPM-based Linux distro such as Fedora.
The disos for the F11 RC DVDs were typically about 5% of the size of
the full ISOs. This can allow testers to get the images and provide
feedback several hours sooner. The syntax for both creating and using
them is trivial:
makedeltaiso oldiso newiso deltaiso
applydeltaiso oldiso deltaiso newiso
as are the man pages for both commands. There is a mistake in the F11
man page description for applydeltaiso which has been fixed in Rawhide,
and in any case shouldn't cause too much trouble, since the one-line
Synopsis is correct and that's all one needs to know.
Currently the alt.fedoraproject.org server has a directory for each of
the three DVD images, each of which contains two files, the ISO and the
corresponding CHECKSUM file. One deltaiso could be generated and put in
each of these directories. The CHECKSUM file wouldn't have to change
since it's only necessary to verify the output ISO.

After the F12 alpha test case install, I fired up evolution and went
through the restore option that the wizard offered me. Well, after
selecting the evo.tar.gz file that evo backsup to, it tries to restore
and start but it starts the wizard all over again. It never would
accept my restore, although in F11 and earlier releases it works fine.
I eventually went with a fresh startup of evo, then tried a restore
after I got the initial info filled out and evo running. Now, I when I
start a new email (or reply to one), and hit the To: button, I see
double entries in my address book. But if I look in the address book
itself, there are no double entries.
Anyone else? Will file a bug if not done already.

I'm running x86_64 Rawhide. Today, when trying to download the rawhide
metadata file, I get an HTTP Error 200 for each mirror, making it
impossible to update. Presumably the metadata file is broken. Anyone
else seeing this? Is it all arches or just x86_64?
