Hey, we all make mistakes, it's no use insulting people over it! Was that
sarcastic remark really necessary?

strigi f12 ram usage
by potat0
Don't really know if this is a bug or not, but I'll mention it just in case.
Running rawhide, strigi version 0.6.4-4.fc12.
Just after reboot I had strigidaemon eating about 1/2 of my RAM, without doing anything.
Seemingly though, the half just appears to be a coincidence. I've looked through my strigi lucene folder, it had about the same size of files in it. After deleting manually, the issue seems to be gone.
So, it looks to me (forgive me if I'm ignorant) that it kept the whole lucene index in memory. Top tells me it was eating 1004 MB (of my 2G) and not consuming any more CPU time than 0.4%.
Cheers,
Jan
P.S. Off topic, but will we be getting a sesame backend for nepomuk in rawhide?

https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=509572 agrees with what I've
seen trying boot.iso.
I rather specifically want to test the new anaconda, just posted 3 July.
To paraphrase a fedoraproject wiki page somewhere, rawhide means
binaries with little (or no) testing. I'd bet the "if it compiles, post
it" workflow ruled the day before a holiday weekend.

Rawhide Broken.
by Chuck Forsberg WA7KGX
Rawhide install is crashing because of a missing rtnl_link_put
This happens with either a pxeboot and html download
or boot.iso askmethod nfs install.
I also tried installing fc11 and updating to Rawhide, but
that failed miserably.
Is there a way to get a working Rawhide today?
It's hard to evaluate the new aspects of Fedora and make sure
my software works with it when basic things such as loading
and updating that used to work revert to "do not pass go" status.

I hit this as well, rolling back to: glibc-2.10.1-2 got me running again.

Severity / priority project: the home stretch
by Adam Williamson
Hi, folks!
So, we're nearing the final stretch of the severity / priority
project. :)
I have, as I noted previously, added some text to the triage guide to
cover this:
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/BugZappers/How_to_Triage#Checklist_for_NEW... (section 9)
I have now added a section to the bug lifecycle page with a more
complete and formal explanation, partly taken from the Beland 'Legend'
draft page where we kicked around the competing systems:
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/BugZappers/BugStatusWorkFlow#Priority_and_...
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/User:Beland/Bugzilla_Legend#Severity_and_P...
I'll send an announcement to -devel-list soon. So, now, the priority /
severity project is officially Open. BugZappers, please, if you haven't
been already, start assigning a severity to all bugs as you triage them,
according to the information above. This will be taken seriously and
used in various ways.
Talking about use, I will soon send out a review of bugs open on Rawhide
and marked 'critical' severity. I'd like to have a review of this set of
bugs each week. I don't necessarily want to be the one doing it,
however. :) It'd be an ideal project for a community member: it's quite
straightforward and requires no secret sauce, all you have to do is take
a quick look at a saved query each week, do some copy/paste-ing, and
pontificate. :) Let me know if you'd be interested in doing this.
We'll also be reviewing all 'critical' bugs (and, if we get ambitious,
even 'high' bugs in key components) during the blocker bug review
meetings for F12, and the triage metric system will probably use the
severity ratings for some metrics too.
Thanks everyone who contributed on this project!

I only figured it out last year, actually. By accident I think :)
