Assertion after package update
by Andrew Farris
This assertion was generated after some updates finished, and I think
its something PackageKit did, although at the moment I don't know if
its PackageKit's fault or actually the Firefox/Xulrunner package's
fault. Both firefox and xulrunner updated during that operation.
Before I get this to bugzilla has anyone else seen it?
Two of them happened. The first occurred as the update finished, and
I do have the update finished dialog shown. The second showed up as I
copied the text out of the first dialog.
Once the assertion happened, I could not create a new window or tab in
firefox (it was opened during the firefox/xulrunner update); if I
tried to create a new tab it would show the assertion again. Once I
quit firefox this is not happening.
During the update the machine was not being used, it was actually in
screensaver, but firefox was a sleeping process. I brought the
machine out of screensaver and the assertion was already shown.
My concern is why would his occur? I've never seen an update applied
with the app open do something like this before.
Here are the assertions:

X possibly broken this morning
by Bruno Wolff III
After updating this morning and restarting X, it is crashing. I reverted
the driver and that didn't help, so I need to revert one or more of the
other updates. Has anyone else figured out the minimum set of packages
that needs to be reverted?
I am using an r5xx radeon on the machine I tried this on.

Already in f8, when a user is in gnome and sets up a lock screensaver (I
presume gnome-screeensaver with password enabled), when you arrive at the pc
you find the password input screen and between the buttons you can choose
one named "switch user..".
Not tested in rawhide (not at pc at the moment)
I don't know what is xautolock.....

FC8-Bug-Application Launcher
by Ragavendra
hi,
I found a bug on FC8 which I am not sure has been reported or not. This
bug is encountered when I try to *add* an application launcher on the panel
on Desktop.
Here what I did,
Right click on panel
Select 'Add to panel'
Select 'Custom Application Launcher' and click 'Add', window appears
Then click 'Browse' on the window
Select 'Type a file name' icon'
Type the path
*Press Enter <--Not taking to the given path (BUG)*
When I select 'Type a file name icon and type/ paste the address bar. When I
then click enter for the dialouge to take to that path it doesn't take me.
It remains where it is, unless I navigate to that application folder after
folder double clicking, which is time consuming and cumbersome

The way the login area resizes looks quite bad when you click on a user in the list. There appear to be several resizes making it look shaky...

F8 updates from last night?
by mike cloaked
I see that there are F8 update rpms from last night (1st April) but
yum seems not to think any are available!
Is there a (meta)file problem with f8 updates at present?
