Just a heads up to anyone who did not see this yet. There is a problem with
sane-backends which yum skip-broken is not working around. On two boxes I've
had to manually --exclude=sane-* for the first update, then come back and update
On the second pass things are fine with skip-broken, but on the first pass if
you do not exclude sane-* then you'll see yum fail with a message that
skip-broken could not satisfy requirements.

until now, i've test installed f9a several times on a gateway laptop
with 512M of RAM. after adding another 1G of DDR 400 RAM, every
install attempt ends up hanging somewhere -- checking SW dependencies,
formatting the root filesystem, and the latest 300+ packages into the
is there something about extra memory that f9a just doesn't like?

Am seeing kernel oops when entering gnome desktop on both x86 and

Anyone else seeing this? Any ideas what is going on?
