request: someone with F7 RC2 i386 dvd iso downloaded
by Development discussions related to Fedora
Hi,
I'm working on a proof of concept tool for downloading large images when
the downloadee already has much of the content on the iso, with the
intent to mostly use existing mechanisms / tools, and be more efficient
than jigdo.
I am keen to have someone who has downloaded the recent F7 i386 dvd iso
run the following command on the iso file:
iso-info -q -l -i /path/to/my/downloaded/F-7-i386-DVD.iso
>F-7-i386-DVD.iso.iso-info.txt
The generated file is around 150-500kB in size. That's too big to send
to this list, so compress it with bz2 {about 30kB}, and email to myself
{off list}, preferably with a short reply on list to say that you have
emailed the OP, so his request has been fulfilled.
I'll respond after work today,
Many thanks,
David T.

Cannot burn DVD
by Niels Weber
Hi all,
I cannot burn DVD with rawhide, with FC6 all worked fine.
I get the same error, whether burning as root or as user.
:-( unable to open64("/dev/sr0",O_RDONLY): No such file or directory
And the application tells me to enter an empty disk. Nautilus
recognizes that there is a DVD+R inserted.
Is this a known problem? Any solutions?
Thanks,
Niels

Hey, the good is that "Something" is for sure better than "Anything"...
In that case I wouldn't have known how to use it... ;-)
though it seems we are now in fc8 walk through, based on endings of
packages' names....

rhgb not at full screen with intel driver
by Gianluca Cecchi
hello, on my Dell SX280 with a 17" 1706FPV LCD I have the intial rhgb
graphic part that doesn't fit all the screen. Top sx corner is ok but
at the right and bottom sides I have black sectors. Something like a
1024x768 in a 1280x1024 available area.
After init part when X reloads I correctly get the gdm login screen.
I'm using intel driver, not the i810.
It began I think after latest X and X drivers upgrade:

I'm fetching latest updates, but the only one that could in some way
be relevant is the kernel.
I'm at 3189 while I'm slowly downloading the 3194.
the others are cups, cyrus-sasl, glibc, gtk2, rhpl, specsp0, wine
Is it a known issue?
