pirut not starting
by Richard Hally
Hi y'all,
After using pirut once today, it will not start again.
The first time I used it, it worked correctly until it was at the end of
an update. At the point where it gave a message box that said "update
completed successfully" I clicked on the "ok" button and the whole
application disappeared(not just the message box). And now when I try to
start in from a terminal it returns "segmentation fault".
Has anyone seen this? Is there a lockfile(or something like that) that I
can reset or remove to get pirut working again?
It would be a bugzilla entry if I could test it again.
Thanks for any help,
Richard H

nm-applet problems with selinux
by Brian C. Huffman
After today's update, nm-applet can't find my wireless device. This
shows up in /var/log/messages:
Jan 28 10:33:41 xyz NetworkManager: <WARNING>
nm_dbus_get_networks_cb (): nm-dbus-nmi.c:527 (nm_dbus_get_networks_cb):
error received: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.AccessDenied - An SELinux
policy prevents this sender from sending this message to this recipient
(rejected message had interface "org.freedesktop.NetworkManagerInfo"
member "getNetworks" error name "(unset)" destination
"org.freedesktop.NetworkManagerInfo").
Anyone know a workaround? I disabled selinux and it works fine.
thanks,
Brian

FC5T2 - Dev Branch EXTRAS?
by Chasecreek Systemhouse
Should we be reporting bugs regarding FC5T2 - Dev Branch EXTRAS? Or
should these wait until FC5 Core is more complete?
MySQL Admin, fontforge (with autotrace), and php-mmcache as well as
php-eaccellerator are all either broke or buggy.
IN the case of the php stuff it is simply a mis match in version
dependencies: 5.1.x is installed but the php-mmcache, for example,
want exactly =5.0.5 -- when it will work with >=5.0.5
Cheers! =)

hang "Starting udev:_" after last good: kernel-2.6.15-1.1826.2.10_FC5
by John Reiser
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=178708#c2
All daily rawhide kernels after 2.6.15-1.1826.2.10_FC5 hang during
init with "Starting udev:_" where the underscore '_' indicates that
the VGA blinking underline cursor has stopped blinking. There is
no response to any keyboard input; hardware reset is required.
The hardware is plain clone and has been reliable.
Booting with serial console reveals nothing other than what is on
the VGA screen: in particular, no Oops messages. Package versions are:
kernel-2.6.15-1.1878_FC5 (hangs)
udev-078-7
initscripts-8.21-1
kernel-2.6.15-1.1826.2.10_FC5 (works)
Suggestions?

yum update fails
by David Fletcher
Hi everyone,
I just joined this mailing list because we installed FC5 test 2 on my son's
computer yesterday, and we've got a little problem with it.
yum -y update completed normally last night.
This morning we used yum to install apcupsd and audacity. Now when we run yum
-y update we get an error:-
--> Running transaction check
--> Processing Dependency: libedataserver-1.2.so.6 for package:
nautilus-sendto
--> Processing Dependency: libedataserver-1.2.so.6 for package:
evolution-sharp
--> Finished Dependency Resolution
Error: Missing Dependency: libedataserver-1.2.so.6 is needed by package
nautilus-sendto
Error: Missing Dependency: libedataserver-1.2.so.6 is needed by package
evolution-sharp
[root@james ~]#
I looked on the list for reports about libedataserver this morning but
couldn't find any.
Anybody know what I do about this, or is it already being sorted out?

Contacts vanished in Evolution
by Paul F. Johnson
Hi,
My contacts seem to have vanished in the latest version of Evolution
(2.5.5.1-2). Is there a way to get them to unvanish?
