---------------------------------------------------------------------
Product : Fedora Core 3
Name : boost
Version : 1.33.0
Release : 2.fc3
Summary : The Boost C++ Libraries
Description :
Boost provides free peer-reviewed portable C++ source libraries. The
emphasis is on libraries which work well with the C++ Standard
Library. One goal is to establish "existing practice" and provide
reference implementations so that the Boost libraries are suitable for
eventual standardization. (Some of the libraries have already been
proposed for inclusion in the C++ Standards Committee's upcoming C++
Standard Library Technical Report.)

A record number of breakages?
by Paul F. Johnson
Hi,
I'm not sure if it's me or the build box, but today must go down as the
day with most number of packages borked in rawhide - there are tonnes
relying on libpixman and libcairo and if they're excluded, there are
still about that additionally have to be excluded as well!
Thank goodness OOo has been updated (again - gotta love it!)

Click links in Evolution and other gnome apps
by Rodd Clarkson
Recently a change has been made (and by recently I mean the last few
months) where links clicked in gnome applications (like evolution) load
in a new tab in Firefox. This is a nice idea, except when Firefox is
open, but on another window.
It took me quite a bit of clicking the first time to realize that the
link I was clicking on was loading, just in a browser in another window,
and what's more, it was loading a lot of times in seperate tabs because
I had clicked it a lot of times.
Am I the only one that this is driving bug shit?
While I like the idea of the link loading in another tab in an already
open firefox window, I also think that if the firefox window is on
another desktop, then it should either a/ use an already open firefox
window on the current desktop, or b/ if there is no firefox window on
the current desktop, open one and use this.
This is going to be a real usability issue for users when FC5 is
released, with users asking why clicking links in evolution doesn't open
them in firefox.
Is this driving others mad, and should it be filed in
bugzilla.redhat.com or upstream in bugzilla.gnome.org?

audit errors and startup problem
by Simon Lanzmich
Hi,
after on oft the latest updates (the update with the new gdm-greeter), I
can no longer login into my GNOME (or any other) session via GDM. GDM
displays a label saying something like 'booting ...', even though the
boot process is completed.
/var/log/messages says:
Aug 22 13:46:09 simon gdm(pam_unix)[3101]: session opened for user simon
by (uid=0)
Aug 22 13:46:10 simon gdm[3158]:
session_child_run: /etc/X11/xdm/Xsession gnome-session konnte nicht
ausgeführt werden [ in english: could not be executed ]
Aug 22 13:46:21 simon gdm(pam_unix)[3101]: session closed for user simon
However, I can run my GNOME session with startx.
I don't know whether this relates to the problem or not, but I get tons
of audit messages on startup in dmesg (here are just some of them):

openoffice.org-1:1.9.125-1.2.0.fc5 on FC4?
by Patrick
Hi all,
I was wondering if I can use openoffice.org-1:1.9.125-1.2.0.fc5 from
rawhide on my FC4 box, possibly by rebuilding the rpm? I made a 30 page
presentation with openoffice.org-impress-1.9.117-3.1.0.fc4 the other day
on a FC4 box (Ahtlon XP2000 with 1Gb ram, Radeon 300). Responsiveness
(page up/down) went down the tubes the more slides I added and scrolling
in a slide (e.g. view 150%) took ages. Thanks for any pointers.
Regards,
Patrick

changes broken?
by Anne & Lynn Wheeler
some change yesterday (installed with kernel 1502) broke X ... i can
boot into level 3 and login ... but booting into graphical/X is broken.
also, all smp kernels since 1287 have resulted in hung processes ...
which require rebooting to clear. dell poweredge 2400 with two 1ghz
processers, 1gbyte memory, raid controller with six scsi disks. hang
appears to be somewhat network related ... occurs anytime from somewhere
in device initialization thru being able to run applications for several
hrs. once hang appears,
all non-smp 13xx & 14xx kernels have worked (modulo a couple really
broken kernels) w/o problem.
1502 & 1504 (yesterday & today) smp kernels have consistently hung just
after initializing two ethernet cards. non-smp 1502 & 1504 boot & run
fine (modulo X being broken and booting to level 3).

Try adding: alias net-pf-10 off
alias ipv6 off
to /etc/modprobe.conf

Thanks for the analysis. I've got 68 seconds on FC4 updated.
Would you please file a bug about it on bugzilla.redhat.com and let us
know the bug number?
Is somebody able to test this with firefox 1.5 in fedora development?
I'm CCing fedora-test.
